Manchester United Sack Van Gaal

It had been long mooted that Louis Van Gaal would see his tenure at Manchester United go up in flames come the summer of 2015. The Dutchman did get his United side to qualify for the Champions League via a play off which the Red Devils must navigate their way through to reach the group stages of the Champions League. However the fans and the clubs boardroom members were unimpressed with the style of football Van Gaal had the Manchester squad playing. At times during the 2014-2015 campaign United looked lethargic and uninspiring throughout the majority of their matches. The biggest concern was that Old Trafford wasn't the fortress it once used to be.

Club vice chairman Edd Woodward who reports to the Glazer family as well as other club directors and dignitaries was the man tasked with first giving Van Gaal his marching orders and then finding a manager that would fit in with the Manchester United way and please the fans and boardroom.

Roughly Manchester United were manageress for around two weeks before Woodward called a press conference to announce that the club had indeed found their man. José Mourinho, Josep Guardiola and Diego Simeone were all linked to the vacant spot at Old Trafford but who would it be...

View attachment 154395

Manchester United fans were in for a real treat as the man that Manchester United unveiled to the world was none other than Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone. The 45 year old Argentinian will be best remembered for having guided his Atlético side to
the La Liga crown in the 2013/2014 season. Taking that title is truely a fantastic feat, especially with the power, money and might of
Barcelona and Real Madrid. That same season Simeone also guided his team to the Champions League final where they faced off against
bitter city rival Real! Unfortunately
Atlético were humbled 4-1 and Real won La Decima.

Simeone has a strict managerial way about him, he possess immense tactical knowledge and is extremely passionate. Sometime even
giving into the passion and letting aggression take over. This makes him someone in the same mould as a certain previous Scottish
manager.

Interestingly Simeone has three sons too. All of whom play football or are interested in in the game. Giovanni playes for River Plate,
Gianluca plays for Banfield and Giuliano is still too young to play the professional game but will more than likely follow in his fathers and
brothers footsteps.

Simeone declared his joy at moving to England and displayed some good understanding of the English language. Holding the whole press
conference in English. Simeone who sat with Edd Woodward stated that he felt he could get Manchester United winning trophies again and
that he felt he was the right man to move the club forward. He believes that the squad with some 'tinkering' may challenge for the Premier
League and maybe a cup too. His aim is to get the Red Devils as far as he can in the Champions League but that a win maybe to premature this season.

Simeone stated that he would speak with the club about Transfers and that he does have idea's on who he wants to bring in and who he
feels no longer has a place at the club. It's believed that Ryan Giggs will NOT stay on as Simeone's assistant and that the Welsh wizard will
seek further managerial experience outside of Manchester. This is something Giggs has decided and nothing to do with Simeone asking him to go.

View attachment 154391

The board have tasked Simeone to use the clubs developmental system to try and build on the success that Manchester United
is accustomed too. The Devils have always had a healthy wealth of hungry young talent within it's ranks and Simeone will be looking to potentially replicate the class of '92. The club does have some excellent youth prospects within it's ranks.

View attachment 154390

The squad does have some fantastic players, David De Gea has kept United in as many games as any prebvious keeper for the club. The Spaniard won the player of the season under Van Gaal and will be a sure fire start for United under Simeone who knows him well from his time at
Atlético.

Wayne Rooney still has the fire inside and can often win the club points on his own. Still with a keen eye for goal he is surely a player that Simeone will want to keep around at the club.

Marcus Rashford, slightly unknown but bound to be a sensation. He has pace and a serious sharp eye for goal. The teenager may just suprise a few this season but it will remain to be seen if Simeone believes he has what is takes this year.

Other in the squad such as Juan Mata, Memphis Depay, Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw will all have roles tom play too and Simeone must be itching to get his claws into his first training session.

View attachment 154389
Simeone is a fan of the 4-2-3-1 tactic and this would suit Man Utd ideally as they have the players to compliment this style of play. This is an attacking formation so falls in line with the Manchester United's board of directors philosophies too. Simeone will be looking to topple Chelsea off the top of the Premier League pile with this tactic and hopefully the Argentinian can do just that. Can Simeone really bring back the trophies for United or is this just another attempt at replacing Sir Alex. Is the Moyes and Van Gaal doomed tenures going to affect this managerial appointment. WIll the fans be happy with Simeone if results don't meet the requirements. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Manchester United - Transfer Update

Manchester United have made their first signings in the 2015/16 Transfer Market! Diego Simeone has sent his scouts all over the globe but predominantly more so over Europe. With European football containing the majority of the worlds best players it is no surprise that Man Utd like the rest of the biggest clubs in the world focus on the European continent to source most of their talent.

Simeone has been given a massive £90 Million budget plus the money of any player sold which is starting to look likely with Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo, Marouane Fellaini and Ashley young all being transfer listed by the club.

Simeone knows that he has to focus his energy looking for a creative midfelder, a strong central defender, another right back and potentially another striker. Simeone has also suggested he will look for youth options too to help with the clubs depth which is already looking bright.

Manchester United welcome Renato Sanches and Aymeric Laporte to the club!

Renato Sanches had been playing for Benfica before this £13M move to Manchester United. The transfer will increase in amount if Sanches hits performance qualifying criteria within his contract. The young Portuguese player has been earmarked as a future world beater and has the world at his feet to go on and become what people expect of him. His passing is sensational and he also knows a trick or two. At only 17 years old Sanches could become a diamond in the middle for the Red Devils.

BvhJsGR.gif

Sanches will have competition for a place in the United side and he will need to prove to Simeone that he can grab his chance now. With the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin, Ander Herrera and the illustrious Bastian Schweinsteiger that might not be easier said than done.

Aymeric Laporte joins in a £21M move to the Red Devils from Athletic Bilbao. His transfer dealt with the same way as Saches' with the fee more than likely to rise with performance qualifying criteria within his contract. The Frenchman was being monitored by a whole host of European elite clubs with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Barceloan eyeing up the young starlet.

Laporte has been credited on his tackling and his timing is second to none on alot of his challenges. His marking is also fantastic and alot of opposing strikers have commented on his ability to stick to his marker. Laporte also has the potential to become a future captain of Manchester United but also his country. His leadership has been noticed by many in the game and at such a young age (21) that can only be positve for him in the future.

laporte.gif

Laporte is also a strong player in the air and his heading can be dangerous as well. Bilbao had found out that Laporte can be as instrumental at the other side of the pitch too. Laporte will be looking to grab a first team spot in Simeone's United squad and he may well become that with Phil Jones injured and Marcos Rojo potentially being sold.

Manchester United - Transfer Update

Having already spent £34M on two exceptional young players, Diego Simeone has delved further into the Transfer Market to sign another two potential future stars. Simeone has been given the full backing at Manchester United to sign who ever he wants as long as he does not exceed his transfer budget.

It looks like Simeone is targeting players who could potentially give United their best years. Going after younger players is better value for money as the returns can be profound such as trophies and success.

This time Simeone has signed a striker and a left full back.

Manchester United Welcome Tyler Robers and Jorge to the club!

Tyler Roberts
joins Manchester United from West Bromwich Albion and will most probably have to work his way up through the ranks before finding himself in the first team. The 16 year old joined on a free transfer but cost £1.1M in compensation. Simeone and the Red Devils will hope this is a bargain by the time Roberts is ready for his first team bow. Roberts possess a good first touch, finishing and he has the power to score from long range.

View attachment 154212

Roberts will bide his time at United and could even go out on loan to gain some first team experience in the future. For now he will conentrate on the Under 21's team.

Jorge joins in a deal initially set as £700k but this will dramatically increase with performance based criteria lodged into the deal with Falmengo. Jorge has been touted as the next big Brazillian full back. With the likes of Cafu and Roberto Carlos having that tag it is something the starlet will hopefully embrace and try to work off. Jorge will be battling Luke Shaw for a starting place in the first team but with great crossing, technique and dribbling it shouldn't be long before he is worrying Shaw.

View attachment 154211

Jorge is an exciting prospect and it will be ineteresting to see if he can live up to the hype that surrounds him. Flamengo supporters were very upset to see the Brazil Under 20's player leave. Luckily Flamengo will be quids in if the young full back has a successful career at United.

Can anyone help me. I write the whole post in Ariel, why does the font change half way through? if you look at the picture of Jorge above the fonts are different above and below the picture.

It does that sometimes with me too :( what I usually do is I just write my whole thing and then change the entire text to Arial or whatever font I want so it doesn't just randomly change it halfway through.

Manchester United To Host Chevrolet Under 21's League 2015

With Manchester United sponsored by the giant which is the car manufacturer Chevrolet both parties have decided to create a anual youth tournament come every pre-season for the next 5 years. This will bring in revenue to the club but also put the focus and spotlight onto Manchester United youngsters. This gives them a platform to perform on and could also earn players the right to play for the first team this season. Diego Simeone will be watching and taking notes just in case anyone can propel themselves into his first team.

View attachment 154206

Manchester United are joined by Anderlecht Under 21's, Werder Bremen II and FC Redbull Salzburg Juniors. The United Under 21's will feel confident that they can win this league with the standard of competition lacking in the quality that the Premier League side have.

New signings Tyler Roberts and Jorge will play their first games for the club in this competition and players such as Marcos Rashford, Timo Fosu-Mensah, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Andreas Pereira will all play.

View attachment 154204

Manchester will play the three games over three days so they will have to rotate to keep the youngsters fresh. Man Utd take on Anderlecht first, followed by Redbull Salzsburg and then they wrap up the tournament against Werder Bremen II. Manchester United fans are allowed to watch the tournament at a cut price with tickets going for just £8 for adults and £2 for children.

View attachment 154203

Manchester United kick off the competition in style with a 4-0 win against their Belgian counterpart. New signing Tyler Roberts scored two goals and showed off the talent that he possess'. His first was a tap in from close range and his second was a header from a Demetri Mitchell cross.

Josh Harrop scored United 21's third goal after weaving his way into the Anderlecht box and Marcus Rashford scored the fourth goal from just inside the box. The youngsters looked hungry and were eager to impress, knowing that Simeone was somewhere in the stands watching.

View attachment 154202

What a romp from the Manchester United Under 21's in match where they scored 7 goals against the youth of RedBull Salzburg. Indy Boonen got himself in the spotlight after scoring a seven minute hattrick. Simeone was seen scribbling in his notepad after the third goal went in.

Demetri Mitchell scored with a fantastic shot as he cut in from the left. He then turned provider for Kayne Diedrick-Roberts who scored from close range. DJ Buffonge scored two goals as well to help Manchester United keep their 100% record in the competition. The Under 21's have also kept a clean sheet in both of their two matches. With Sergio Romero and Sam Johnstone not havbing much to do in either game.

View attachment 154201

They WIn! Manchester United never looked like slipping up in this competition and to be fair maybe they should of had some tougher competition. Another clean sheet for the youngsters and another goal for both Indy Boonen and Marcus Rashford who's stock will have just soared due to this competition.

Fosu-Mensah picked up a knock in this game but luckily it is only a bruised shin and he will be able to complete the rest of pre-season. Andrteas Pereira and Sean Goss looked to have built a strong relationship through the middle of the park and it was these two who really made the Under 21's tick.

View attachment 154200

So the fans enjoyed it, Manchester United Under 21's enjoyed it, Indy Boonen and Marcus Rashford certainly enjoyed it. The Chevrolet Under 21's League 2015 was won by the hosts Manchester United Under 21's. Next year we will be expecting some tougher competition. With three wins from three and no goals conceded the hosts were too good.

Diego Simeone was impressed and handed the youngsters the Chevrolet Cup, Interestingly he whispered something into Boonen's ear before leaving the celebrations. This made the youngster beam from ear to ear. Perhaps a place in the first team might just be heading his way.

Guys update to come Monday Evening. Any Transfer suggestions? Prefer young and probably a striker and a right back

Right back you could try going for Eric Dier, he can play there plus as a centre-midfielder as well and he's just 21 years old, great English talent too! For your striker you could try Berahino? Although I've got to say, Berardi is probably your best bet considering how amazing he becomes ;) he's at Manchester United in my King of Rome story and absolutely killing it.

Manchester United - Transfer Update

Manchester United are certainly taking advantage of the Transfer Window and Diego Simeone looks to be building and molding Manchester United to his own design. The fans seem relaxed with the Argentinian at the helm and a poll suggests that he already the most liked Red Devils manager since Fergie left followed by Van Gaal and then Moyes who were some way of Simeone in that poll.

The clubs fifth and sixth signing have arrived and the core strength and depth seems to be improving under Simeone. With United building for the now and for the future the club seem to be in healthy and capable hands at present.

Manchester United Welcome Gabriel Jesus and Eric Dier to the club

Gabriel Jesus has signed from Palmeiras and has been likened to former Brazillian stalwarts of the game. The young striker has the ability to maze his way into an opponents box and score some exquisite goals. In a deal that reaches £4M, Jesus will have some pressure on his shoulders.

United haven't had much luck working with Brazillian players but alongside Jorge the Red Devils will hope to have two starlets for the future. Jesus has good finishing skills, good dribbling skills and fantastic technique.

H-Kge0.gif

Eric Dier joins in from Tottenham in a 19M deal with performance based criteria potenially raising this fee for Man Utd. The strong right back/centre back is versatile, strong and passionate within the game. Simeone has identified him as a right back to challenge with Darmian but he can cover a host of other positions.

Heading, Tackling and Marking are all strong traits that Dier possess and he is also useful in the box when it comes to set plays. With a big sum of money spent, United and Simeone will hope Dier is value for money rather than wasted cash.

View attachment 153192

Dier also has the qualities to become a potential captain of Manchester United. He has great leadership qualities and is effective with communicating to the whole squad.

Manchester United Pre-Season Heads To The USA

Diego Simeone takes his squad to the United States Of America which Man Utd continue to do and have done so in years gone by. The commercial value of these trips are as important as getting the squad match fit with Manchester United trying to grow it's brand in America.

United will face off against Orlando City, Houston Dynamo, the Seattle Sounders the Chicago fire. This is a great chance for the players to fight for a first team place. Diego Simeone has rewarded a few of his Under 21's players with a place on the plane to the USA, Fosu-Mensah, Rashford, Varela and Boonen have all claimed a place.

Pre-Season Round Up

A fantastic Pre-Season where Manchester United certainly looked to have flourished under Diego Simeone. Not exactly the calibre of teams they will face when the Premier League campaign starts this year but four wins out of four will boost morale. Indy Boonen has since become a revelation and seems to be the find of Pre-Season. It's good to know Man Utd can still unravel a gem.
...

The new signings have all played bar Tyler Roberts who stayed in England with the Under 21's. The Red Devils will now look to the league where they start their campaign against West Brom soon.

Nice opening day win for the Red Devils. Renato Sanches proving what a wonderful player he is by claiming the Man of The Match award. United were however frustrated in this match and will look at themselves thoroughly.

Chris Smalling saved the clubs blushes by scoring from a last minute corner.
