This blog will be my story of how I attempt to make Manchester United they greatest and most dominant team in European football. Obviously I am a Manchester United supporter and this season will be a strange feeling, the first time since I was born that Manchester United (MU) won't be competing in a European competition. A below par season finishing in 7th place in the Barclays Premier League, under the management of ex-Everton, David Moyes, was far from ideal. I have taken the job in to my own hand on Football Manager 2014 to bring Man United back to the top of Europe and consistently dominate world football.

Here is my manager details:

And here is the club details:

Manchester United are obviously a club with a rich successful history, mainly under Sir Alex Ferguson, although we only have 3 European Cups to our name, so the main ambition of this career is to be successful in winning more European cups.

Here is an overview of the clubs history:

Looking at the squad I beleive there obviosuly needs to be a few changes. For me players such as Evra, Ferdinand, and Vidic are on the decline so I will be looking for replacements for those three. Players such as Young, Nani, Evans, maybe even Welbeck, Fletcher, are not in my plans for the future as I don't beleive they have the quality to be in what I plan on making the best team in Europe. Rooney and RVP are two world class strikers but I think I need to add a more exciting prospect as back-up rather than Chicharito. We have exciting young players in the form of Januzaj, Zaha, Kagawa and Pereira who I will look to heavily involve with the squad.

In this current moment this is my preferred team:

The main positions I want to sign players are LB, and two CB's.
I have Luke Shaw as my main target at left-back, and there are many options at centre back such as Rojo, Mangala, and Vetonghen just to name a few.

I like the style, right to the point, no nonsense. Keep it up, looking forward to the transfer you make :)

Thanks dude! Great to have someone on board so fast! I will update as much as I can just trying to fit it in with work, university and football, where you from dude? and what club do you support? (6)

The first pre-season game was up against Potuguese club Sporting Lisbon, this is how the teams looked going out onto the pitch:

After those two games I managed to complete my first signing (6) ^^)
A young centre-back from netherlands (unfortunately he is going back to his original club until the end of the season so he will be available for us next season, a player for the future, the next ferdinand or vidic? (6)):

LOL Why is so **** hard so sign players! Southampton demanding $32 million plus Evra!!! for Shaw

So basically you are going to take one of the best teams in europe and try to make them into the best team in europe.....
Not much a challenge but i will follow, try signing a LB called Alex Sandro, TBH i would pay that much for Shaw he is a beast!

Yeah Bakestar pretty much, expect this season they were far from one of the best teams in Europe :P and yeah I would sign Shaw for that much too but on the game my budget is $12 million haha, and I know alex sandro from porto he is sick i'll check him out in the game :D thanks for commenting dude I will be posting soon XD(6)

Being from New Zealand myself and actually knowing and having played against some of the players in the game, I wanted to bring some young Kiwi talent into my reserve squads and hopefully one day be good enough quality to grace the first team. The first player I managed to pick up was a lad Judd Baker, who is currently in the Swansea youth set-up, I wanted to bring him to United as I have played against him many times at under-15 and 17 grade for my club Oratia, and I know the potential the kid has so hopefully he can show his talent in red:

Then our next pre-season game was against USA's Real Salt Lake, here is the team and the result:

So pre-season continues, 3 games played 3 wins and 0 goals conceded, I couldn't have wished for a better start, hopefully we can still bring some players in to strengthen the squad, although Jones and Smalling are currently looking like a solid center back pairing, but my main target is a new left back.
Stay tuned for more #GGMU

wait till a few weeks into July or start of August and ask the board for extra budget, they'll possibly give you 2x Million. Get Luke Shaw in at any price (keep negotiating you can get him for 24M plus clauses) and Will Hughes too because they're 18 and will have "HG at club" status when they're 21. If you wait till next season to get them they won't be HG. Waiting to see how to play Mata and Kagawa, I've always been struggling and ended up playing Mata on the left.

alright dude sounds like a decent idea, never heard of will hughes so i'll check him out (6)

Actually yes of course I have heard of Will Hughes, the kid with white hair! ;) haha (6)

It seems that Alex Sandro has moved to AS Monaco and they are demanding at least $55 million for his transfer, and so far the deal for Will Hughes has fallen through twice as my players I were trying to exchange couldn't agree a contract, first Cleverly, then A.Young, bastards haha.

Then I played three more pre season games against, Dallas, Sounders and Parma:

Here are the results, I have won every game I have played!!! Great managerial tactics, or average opponents? You decide :P

I also managed to sign Rene ! :D He was first team coach when Sir Alex Ferguson was at the club, but stupid Moyes got rid of the coaching staff, worst decision ever. So I signed him back to United (6)

I would say keep Evra, i had him as my first choice LB for around another 2 seasons and then bought Luke Shaw for the same money, so you can spend this seasons budget on other areas

Hey coolmcool! Good idea man, i'm struggling to sign either Shaw or A.Sandro anyway so yeah I know he has a couple of decent seasons in him, just I love Luke Shaw! But yeah I know i'm probably going to have to wait until I get him (6)

The next pre-season friendly was against this random club I have never heard of, here are the teams:

Unbelievably the result ended:

My first goal I have conceded!!! Aaaaargh! haha I couldn't believe it when it went in.. oh well we continue (6)

I just put young Jese Lingard on loan for the season, he is a promising talent and I want him to get first team game time which he wouldn't get this season at United

View attachment 384254

I picked up a young striker for $1.1 million from Malaga he looks like a promising talent, and I will involve him in the first team this season:

View attachment 384253

I just did what I think is a fantastic deal!! I sold Danny Welbeck to Chelsea for $10.25 million plus I get the young talent Kalas! (6)

Tip for left back, Get Andrew Ayew! I bought him first season for United playing left wing (top class) and now I'm in my third season Evra will be on his way out. No left backs at a reasonable price were available so I had a look at Ayew who is very versatile, he can cover a load of positions from the start. Although he starts off at dark orange at left back, after putting him to train there and only playing for about 4 games he went to light green!

He is still young and has great attributes for an attacking left back. The only thing he is really worse than Evra at technical wise is marking at 9. But as he will be around 24 on yours he has plenty of time to increase that with training.

In the 4 games he started at LB he assisted 3 and scored one, getting a MOTM award and also getting mid 7 ratings on average.

Even if you use him in midfield (can cover all attacking mid positions) he is ridiculously good.

I payed around 12 million, which is a bargain.

After season 3 when Evra leaves Ayew will be my first choice left back.

Hope you take a look :)
