If Fergie were to still be manager today and the club had the current players at their disposal, would he still play a classic 4-4-2 and manage to fit each player into it? Adnan (LW), Mata/Kagawa (CM), Nani (RW) ???

Or would he sell them and bring in natural central midfielders, such as Herrera and new wingers, such as Robben?

The current squad in the game has me frustrated, as I prefer 4-4-2 and I would like someone's opinion on whether or not it would be a good idea to sell them all and start from scratch, or if it is possible to successfully re-position everyone?

You can pretty much do anything you want. If it doesn't work out, **** it.

4-4-2 is a good thing with the united squad as the wingers are good along with the fullbacks. I would look to bring in new CMs if I was manager. Carrick is still good but getting on. Mata is good as a CM but kagawa lacks the ability to play there on the game. He gets booshed about too much by opposing CMs. Only problem with 4-4-2 is you need mobile CBs as your back 4 will be getting exposed, ALOT. you need CBs who are gonna step in and take control jones is good at this maybe look at bringing in another CB to partner him.

I could see fergie running the 4411.

I would see him play 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1. But in all honesty I think united have a rubbish overall squad. They need world class cms and a new defense

Fergie never played a pure 442 actually ...
Back then it was kind of 442 with a sweeper and a diamond in the middle without necessarily having a DM and AM it was more DM and CM with one of the strikers dropping deep. I remember watching a lot of their games because why I even began supporting Arsenal was because my rich friend who had cable TV in the early 90s supported Manure. Whenever we had to play games I had to choose a team and because he went Manure he chose Arseanl for me. I remember back then (around 1993) there was a PC game and that McCoist guy from Rangers was INVINCIBLE. Equivalent of all 20s for physical attributes XD memories. I went to watch all their games on TV and play video games on the SNES (like 90 Minutes for example, AWESOME gameplay for 1995 lol). Always, always, always under the impression, before Media bs came into it, that they play 4132 for example with the sweeper role as everyone else in Europe pretty much did (see Blanc). Arsenal were one of few clubs who deployed the offside trap having watched 2 leagues (TUrkish+English) for +20 years. Arsenal were one of the only ones I can remember doing it often otherwise I could relate offside to certain players... but not teams... which leads me to believe we never really played a sweeper and kept a straight back four. I'm no real life manager but they're my observations from years of watching them.

Also in CR7 years, even on TV, it used to show the "slanted 442" with the RM being further up in a AML position whereas LM, CM, CM stayed the same.

The Manure team I remember (schme, neville, irwin, blanc stam, keane, scholes, giggs, beckham, cole, yorke) played the kind of formation I'm talking about up there with the 4132 with a sweeper and no AMC. Correct me if I'm wrong XD

I still believe the signing of Mata was a little unneeded. Obviously, i know that Moyes needed to sign someone, and Mata is a magical player, but as long as we play with Rooney and Van Persie, Mata will only get in out wide, where i don't believe him to be anywhere near as effective.
