Manchester United have today announced that Louis Van Gaal will be leaving the club by mutual consent. It appears that not all members of Manchester United boardroom were satisfied with the Dutchman's managerial prowess and decision making last year and it appears that the clubs hierarchy are willing to let Van Gaal go.

Manchester United fans who have had a rocky relationship with Van Gaal appear not to be too fazed by this decision and they seem to concentrating more on who their next manager will be. The likes of Jose Mourinho, Diego Simeone and club stalwart Ryan Giggs have all been discussed in the papers as potential successors.

Manchester United might just be entering a new era, the Ryan Giggs era! The Manchester United hierarchy make a kneejerk decision and took their time on deliberating who would become the next manager of their illustrious club. Van Gaal, Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Bobby Charlton and some of the senior players were all asked who they could see as the clubs next manager. The answer was unanimous and Ryan Giggs was the answer everybody gave.

Giggs has been Manchester United manager previously but only on an interim basis; boasting two wins, a draw and a loss during his four match stint in charge.

So now with Giggs in the managers seat at Old Trafford, how will the Red Devils fair this season? Giggs has been booked in for a press hearing where the whole world can hear what he has planned for Manchester United.

Manchester United booked in Giggs' unveiling to enable the young manager time to settle into his role, evaluate his squad, focus on transfers and start building the team the way he envisages it.Giggs seemed in an extremely buoyant mood and was happy to take all questions fired at him.

"It's fantastic to see you here Ryan, it really is. How does it feel for you having come up through the Manchester United ranks, to becoming a star player and to now be in the managers hotseat?"

Ryan Giggs

"I'm still taking it in really. This has been such a whirlwind for me. I am honoured to be sat here though. the though of Louis (Van Gaal), David (Moyes) and Sir Alex (Ferguson) have all been sat here still gives me goosebumps. There is pressure in this seat however and I know it will not subside until we have success and trophies and It's my job to ensure that happens."

"You have been the assistant manager for a while now and have been the interim manager for four games previously, how will you now approach the matter of being the full time manager"

"I'm lucky enough to have already know the lads, we have a decent relationship and I hope that won't change with me becoming the gaffer. I have also learnt from and experienced the ways other mangers have managed and am now working to incorporate all of what I felt they positively possessed into my own regime. I also have my own ideas I want to make work"

"What plans do you intend to bring into the club? Are you hoping for a big Transfer budget or will you be trying to replicate a new generation such as the one you were part of the class of 92?"

Ryan Giggs

"I'm not going to lay out my whole plan to you but I will certainly be looking at the squad, where we can improve and perhaps looking to see if there are any opportunities in the Transfer Market. I am already well aware of the prospects in the youth teams and am already looking to see if anyone is ready to make the jump up to the first team"

"Will you be looking to Sir Alex for advice and who do you have in mind for your own assistant now that the position has opened up? One of your former colleagues?"

"I know Sir Alex is only a phone call away but I think I better let him enjoy his retirement... In all seriousness though I'm sure he will be happy to help if he can. I haven't really though too much about that in all honesty. You'll be disappointed if you think we're getting the band back together and the class of 92 or going to be reuniting in a coaching capacity"

"What are your realistic aims for this season? The squad has gone through two managers since Sir Alex and hasn't really impressed anybody the last two season"

"Finding an identity on then pitch and instilling the fear back into the rest of the league. We will of course be aiming to win every competition we're in and expect to be pushing for trophies. The Premier League will be a priority and the Champions League would be a dream to win."

"There is a rumour that the club are intersted in siging Aymeric Laporte, can you discuss with us if this is true or any signings that you have in mind and intend to make."

"I have a rough idea who the club could benefit from signing but I won't be divulging that information today. As for the rumour about Aymeric Laporte I won't be giving an answer for that either. I will not be discussing any player who doesn't play for our Manchester United"

WIth that being the last question Ryan Giggs had time for it will be interesting to see how things progress under Giggs' regime at the club.

Ryan Giggs has made his first ever splash in the Transfer Market and what a splash it is! Giggs has managed to acquire the signature of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich. The Spanish starlet once heralding from Barcelona joins in a sensational coup for both Giggs and Manchester United. The Red Devils had been tracking Thiago for some time even from his time in the youth set-up from Barcelona.

Although Giggs has stated that he intends to use Manchester United's youth system to build his squad up, it has been reported from internal sources that another high profile signings will be joining over the next few days. There is certainly a buzz around Old Trafford at the moment and the Red half of Manchester seem happy enough with their new manager and their latest acquisition.
