After trying to start a couple of games i'v not really been able to get into the new FM so thought I would try a manager story to hopefully keep me a bit more interested and push through the mass injuries and goals conceded I have suffered in other saves.

Wanted a bit of a challenge and thought Villa would be decent as they don't have much money and are probably a bit thin for squad depth. So begins the rise with former player Martin Laursen

Former fans favorite Martin Laursen appointed as the new manager of Aston Villa replacing Paul Lambert.

Media prediction - 15th

Personal expectations for this season -

  • Finish well clear of the relegation places
  • Clear the squad of the overpaid deadwood for the start of next season
Key players

Guzan - top GK who is likely to have a busy season
Vlaar - experienced centre back who will hopefully form a strong partnership with Okore
Benteke - amount of success achieved early doors with depend on him staying fit, staying put and scoring plenty of goals

Pick of the youngsters

Jed Steer - already looks very promising hopefully be challenging for no. 1 spot within 2 seasons
Jack Grealish - hopefully with a season or 2 away on loan he could become a first choice
Callum Robinson - decent but may not fit well into my system
Plan is to get the better youngsters away on loan after pre-season for some invaluable game time.

New signing x 2
View attachment 323332
Josip Radosevic - on loan from Napoli. plain and simple he will provide cover for Sanchez in DM and is on a small wage

Yaya Sanogo - on loan from Arsenal. this may seem a bit of a strange one but he can play the complete forward role and like my other loan signing he will simply provide cover for the first team. I will be trying to get rid of Libor Kozak and Darren Bent (especially Bent) due to high wages and not fitting well into my system

Fererico Bernardeschi - on loan from Fiorentina, will provide cover for Agbonlahor and help the squad as I try to offload the non required players

A very good pre-season with plenty of game time for all. The only down side was an injury to Andi Weimann who will be out for 2-3 months.

Start the Premier league season with a home tie vs promoted Leicester City

Premier League - Aston Villa 1 - 0 Leicester City - Bernardeschi
very fortunate victory with the sending off of Wes Morgan proving to be a turning point with Federico Bernardeschi coming off the bench to grab a goal on his debut

League Cup 2nd Round - Birmingham City 4 - 2 Aston Villa - Delph, Bent
A shocker of a game against city rivals Birmingham conceding 4 goals in the first 29 minutes

Premier League - Aston Villa 1 - 0 Liverpool - Agbonlahor
Smash and grab, exactly the type of result and performance needed when facing the bigger teams
