matching highest earner contracts

any body got any tips to get these of the wage bill. signed a player in championship with this clause and now in the prem the player has jumped up to 25k per week to match the highest earner and they are no where near good enough for this.

Also is there a way around offering that clause in the contract. some players just wont sign unles they have that which is a problem in a progressing club

You'll have to improve other terms in the contract to get players to stop wanting that clause included. Such as improving their wages or appearance fees beyond what they'd settle for normally, or increase the agents fee.
