-Won SkyBet League 2 with Dover
-Won League with Tottenham (1st Season)
Basically guys, I made this tactic in my 5th season with Dover Athletic, I'd finished 14th in the Skrill Premier the season before. Quite frankly, magical things started to happen, I finished 2nd with the first season with this tactic, the next I won the league, 2 seasons later I am where I am now, in SkyBet League 1. (I won League 2 by 19 pts).
The way this tactic functions is that you have full defensive coverage, with an Anchor sitting in front of your back 4, and when out of possession your full backs will sit inside and create a block of 5 for the opposition to break through, which, don't get me wrong, they will if you do not have the correct quality of players. However, you will notice the mentality is attacking, this is an attacking formation, with the wing backs set to attack, as are you're AP and striker. The wingers are naturally attacking as they are set to inside forwards but they are set to support as you want to feed the striker who should be the main goal threat. The other CM, a BBM, will contribute both defensively (without the ball) and attacking phases (with the ball), therefore he needs to have HIGH STAMINA, as he will be nonstop throughout the game. The wingers are set to IFs because we have our wingbacks set to attack, so as they bombard forward our wingers will come inside allowing the wing back to cross or pass. In other tactics I dislike using the 'retain possession' instruction, as it seems to choose possession over creating chances- although with a few tweaks to the player instructions and the passing instructions, I have managed to create a tactic which maintains possession when necessary, although when further up the pitch, it will try and break down the opposition defence.
I am looking forward to trying this tactic with a higher calibre team, or please dont hesitate to try it yourself and let me know how you get on.
Thanks, maxchaplin55
EXTRA INFO: IFs and ST work better with pace, this is down to the pass into space instruction.
Player Instructions: Full backs: Sit narrower, Close down more, Run wide with ball, Shoot less often
Defensive mid: Close down more
Box to box mid: Roam from position
Advanced Playmaker: Close down less, Shoot more often, More direct passes
Inside Forwards: Cross more often, Roam from position
