Just had a thought guys,

With so many tactics out there and various hype about which ones work best etc, why don't we just do the following to see which is truly the best...

1) Pick a team to test everything with. I say the best thing to do is pick a Conference South/North team and use that team for every tactic so that it provides a baseline and fair competition.

2) I'd like to say get the owner of each tactic to test themselves to give the ultimate official results!

3) Get the participants to post their season results via screenshots

4) Points system rewards success:

1st : 25 points
2nd : 18 points
3rd : 15 points
4th : 12 points
5th : 10 points
6th : 8 points
7th : 6 points
8th : 4 points
9th : 2 points
10th : 1 point

So for example, if they manage to achieve 5 successive promotions to the Premiership that's 125 points

5) Maximum of 5 seasons - the challenge is to get promotion to the Premiership and try and get the maximum 125 points.

6) Only the English leagues to be loaded and database set to minimum and reputation of manager to be set as Sunday league footballer. (no cheating here!)

7) No pre season friendly money cheats! Friendlies to be decided by competition admins.

Hopefully a test of this sort not only can find out who is the best tactician but also the best manager! The main difficulty here is persuading the tactic owners to participate. It is 5 seasons afterall but hopefully the added pressure of real life competition and the opportunity for bragging rights might be enough!

Also, having each owner test their tactic means we could have a massive database of results to show the community.

I think that you hit the nail here. Making enough users to play 5 whole seasons will be difficult as its something that I think very few will do. For me, that would probably take at least 1 month if going to micro manage. Also consider the fact that some of the users that are indeed willing you do this with the aim to boost their tactics and them selfes will cheat. I can just see all the abuse that are to come in this thread, accusations about cheating towards all those that have actually got some results, not just those that have..

Also remember that the appraocg/tactics used would be very different playing with really poor players in the BSS compared to the CCC and the Prem.

Also it's hugely unlikely to get to the prem with the same team that you are with in the blue square leagues (with regards to signing players)

Agree. Without cheating, its impossible to do this with back to back promotions

i think that if you are going to do this challlenge, perhaps the only way to meassure how good you are is to look at what league you play in and the position in the fifth season.

I am sorry if i sound harsh, but if you are to post a thread with the word "The Official " in the tittle, please make sure that you speak to the admins and moderators about it before posting

Apologies for the official blip, didn't think. Responses are as expected, this was a long shot in any case. Back to back promotions is more than possible obviously though not with the same players! Lol! the same players...really!?!

Its a dead topic realistically and it won't happen which is a shame. Still, FM-Base is awesome for tactics and definitely a fantastic resource for information.
