While negotiating a new contract with my board earlier I started thinking about what actually counts as a measure of your success as a manager.
I mean, it's easy enough to say, "it's how many league titles & cups you've won" but really, it's easier to win certain trophies in certain leagues i.e. winning the SPL is easier than winning the EPL for example.
My point though is, is your success measured by how much money you yourself earn? I mean, the board will only allow you to increase your own wages if you've been deemed successful enough through your career.
So surely, assuming you're a good few seasons into your game, if you've went from earning around £2,500k p/w to earning £20,000k p/w you've clearly made some headway in your management career.
Any thoughts?
