Messi - Problem with consistency

Has anybody got Messi to perform anywhere near the level he's capable of? Has anybody got him to play tthe way he does for Barca and how?

I can seem to get him to go on those mazy runs he does even though I got him inside fwd as free roaming, high attacking mentality and creativity - run from deep is set on often.

He scores the odd goal but he drifts out of the game too much. Villa takes the limelight for me.

individual settings... full attack, short passes and no long shots

have you formation set to narrow, and set him as the team playmaker

gets a rating if 8 in most of my games.. played 22, 18 goals, 15 assists

I can never get Messi to transfer away from Barca, so I've never had the pleasure of managing him as I only really enjoy controlling a team in England. But his stats do look pretty awesome!

I'm in 2015 with Barca. I play him Inside Forward/Attack/Max. Creative Freedom/Cut Inside. He scored 128 goals, made 54 assists in
167 matches and he missed like 60 matches because of his injuries (three times, long term; three times mid-term).
