Hi Guys,

I have just moved from managing Swindon in League 1 to Sheff Utd in the Championship and no more than 2 weeks into the job it has been announced that a Middle Eastern Consortium has started proceedings to buy the club. I thought this would be great, middle eastern consortium might just have a few bob to invest in the club.

However, the club have been placed under a transfer embargo whilst the ownership changes hands (rubbish time to do it as well as the transfer window has just opened in July and players i had targetted are starting to accept offers elsewhere!!) but it has said the new owners will review my position as manager of the club!!

Am i facing the sack after just 2 weeks in charge and not playing a single game??

Has anyone else experianced this before?

Cheers

Matt

It happened to me ages ago when i started with Portsmouth so about a month into the job a takeover was announced & the new owner wanted ****** Glenn Hoddle as boss!!XD
It was all ok in the end as i got some good results so they stuck with me.:D

Happened to me as Rangers boss. Club got the big take over and the new guy wanted Avram Grant...my rep was semi pro and i got the boot

this is a problem i've had twice, with Reading they wanted Alan Curbishly, but i didnt end up getting taken over :D and with newcastle they wanted curbishley again but luckily i was playing league games at the time so i was able to please them and keep my job, if your not pplaying games and winning you could get the boot :/

What a nightmare!! I reluctantly left Swindon as i had failed to get them promoted in 2 seasons and wanted to try my hand at Championship Management.

Sheff Utd offered me the job which i took and now it looks like i may become one of god's great unemployed!!

Fingers crossed that they keep me in the job long enough to get to pre-season lol

lol yea it is likely as the takeover takes agesssss, and whenever ive experienced it (about 4 or 5 times) it generally 'hits the rocks' for weeks and doesn't end up being completed, but it would be handy for you, could end up making sheff utd a great prem side

i had the same thing with everton new chairman said he was persuaded to keep me and i ended up with £51M in transfer funds :D This was also during July transfer window!

When i was Leeds, there was a takeover and they wanted Alex McLeish, I was tempted to resign when i heard that

that wud be awesome as everton u dont get much straight away iv got a save with them it was fun but i totally renewed the team and it got just like other saves i have

Yeah this happens a lot, it's annoying when you get to a point where your team is just how you like it, and your team is just starting to get results, then you get replaced by some numpty :(

i've found unless the previous board has 90% confidence in you you will get sacked if a new board takes over

iv never really been involved in a takeover, only once at rangers:) but it was Martain Bain the cheif executive:\:L how realistic are the take overs in fm09 in terms of money put into the club from different regions of the world:O?

I know it's harsh to lose your job and that but it's a good addition by the game to include this in my opinion, because it happens in real-life as well where the new owners will want a new manager.

When I was Fulham, 7th in Prem, consortium took over and sacked me, 3rd season december, I joined start of the season. Replaced me with Glenn Hoddle ¬¬

I was walsall in league 1 in my 1st season n was doing really well with them and was pushing 4 promotion and then crystal palace got took over and the new board sacked warnock n wanted me 2 replace him and after palace sayin i would have 15 million to spend there was only 1 decision. :) Ended up gettin palace promoted which was great :)
