Found a back up and it works so luckily i was a bit behind with the story so i can start from where i left off. Might take a few weeks to get it sorted but when i do i will update...


Middlesbrough Football Club
2009-2010

After my last thread went down badly:( i decided to take some advice and do a more chalenging team so i chose my team, Middlebrough.

Well as I only have 2.6million to spend im going to go for free transfers and loan some young decent players out.

N'Gog scored 2 goals in every game he played in in pre-season including a 40 second goal against Sheffield United. I was also unbeaten in my games up to the the Championship. I was really happy with the 2-2 draw with Benfica !!!

Good luck. I tried Middlesbrough myself. Don't spend too much cash or you'll go into administration. The first year isn't too hard though. :)

Thanks. How much is not too much? do u mean like dont ask for extra funds ?
 
Just be careful. Keep your wage budget in tact and don't splash the cash transfer wise, regardless of transfer budget.

I reccommend selling Andrew Taylor, you will get at least £2.5m for him. Pogatetz is more than capable of taking over from him. I also sold Hoyte as Williams is again more than adequate replacement.

I also sold Digard (got a large fee (£5m) and he has large wages - got Gunnarrson in as replacement). Upfront I bought Dmitri Sychev for £6m I think. He was outstanding but that was on the initial patch when the club wasn't in as much trouble financially.

Sell Shawky, he is garbage. I got Begovic from Pompey as replacement for Jones who I sold, I also got rid of Coyte, as Steele is a great backup..(becomes a great GK also).

i sold taylor for 2.5 already (look at 1st screenie) and digard for 3.5million . i think i will keep jones until i get to the prem then i will get joe hart or artur boruc form celtic what do u think?? Oh and im keeping shawky for later as he can go for 2million in season 2

Hart is a good call. I got begovic (sp) from Pompey for Championship season and Hart signed for around £1m from City at the end of the season when I got promoted. He is a great GK even in the EPL.

Sorry didn't see screenshots. Good deal for Taylor but could have got more for Digard I think. Shawky I would just get rid of for about £1m now, free up some funds.
 
Shawky is useless. Just rid of him. You budget is not safe, and more you can earn throughout the season in good! Keep it going mate! I would maybe recommend Macheda on loan. He was banging them in in my Boro game.
 
im in the premiership 2nd season with middlesbourugh and im using a mixture of tactics and ive had some good wins im 4th place with only 6 games left to play theres 5 points between me and the top and four of my last games are against chelsea liverpool and totentham (the top three teams )

i think im gonna sell shawky and take redders advice and buy begovic on loan for a season then joe hart at start of 2nd season:D

1st half of season review

My unbeaten run is going quite well and i have found my teams best tactics so far. Its basically a 4-4-2 with wingers but with te current players i have in the squad its almost perfect.

Marlon King was on fire until he got sent to jail and now he cant play until 2011 and the board won't let me release him:O:O:O:O

I loaned Dan Gosling for a few months and he was doing well but he got injured and i terminated is loan.

I got Jason Roberts as replacment for Marlon King and he joins today
Marseille(sp?) have offered 4.1million for justin hoyte but im wanting at least 5million^^)

Star Players

Ngog by a mile as been class but more recently Emnes is on form and scoring almost every game.
Sol Cambell scored a Hatrick which i was really surprised about but he has been a good signing

Finances

I realy need help with finances i lose money every month any help?:S

Tips

is there any people you think i should sign or any more info you want?
 
Only thing I can think of for the finances is try offering contracts for less money? Or offloading the expensive budget drains that u dont need

And sell hoyte for that 4 mil.
 
For the finances, promotion should make sure you start making money. In the short term, I would definitely look to see which players would be happy to take a wage cut. I was making a monthly loss as Reading but managed not to go bust by reducing my wage bill as much as I could, then getting promotion to the EPL.
 
none of my players are taking a lower wage(and staff) so dont know yet. i think i might offload st ledger if i get a offer for him as i have pogatetz wheater and cambell for CB

just offered st ledger for 4million to clubs and got around 20-25 replys lol accepted all

2nd Season

As title says i have started my second season and i have already made some HUGE!! Signings...:O as followsView attachment 36133 Yeah David Beckham, Rivaldo, Dida, Kevin Phillips and Kanu are all old but have been on fire in pre season. Beckham has had 5 assists in 4 games rivaldo score 1 in 2 games Phillips 4 goals in 2 games and Kanu 3 assists in 2 Games!!

All great results. i was please with the liverpool game even though it was 6-3 as they where 5-0 up at half time so i won the second half:SXD

I reckon that all your "huge" signings may fail miserably in the EPL, apart from maybe Beckham.

Did you get Joe Hart?

Is Dmitri Sychev available? How much money have you got?

Craig Cathcart is decent if you can get him on loan. Milevskyi upfront?

Victor Obinna is decent for a few goals. In the EPL on my Boro game (third season) my team is;

My Veterans that i got have been ok so far but Kevin Phillips has been scoring a few goals 3 in 5 games so far but Beckham is getting an assist in every game i score in. Rivaldo has been quite a good sub when he was needed in the last 20 minutes of games and Kanu hasn't had a first team game yet but scored a hat-rick against Hull in a Reserve game.

No i did try and get Joet Hart but he went to Werder Bremen instead of Middlesbrough.

I have Dida in goal now and he is doing ok but i would like to bring in a younger keeper for the neaer future as Steele is still young and will need a few seasons to develop.

I can't find Dmitri Sychev so bit puzzeled there.

Milevskyi has been a good signing and he is my top scorer so far. Cathcart has gone to Newcastle so i think a loan deal for him is almost 0%

On your team who is your top player in each posistion?

EXTRA INFO - I got Zinedine Zidane as a coach to train shooting but i use him to get player reports as he is a good scout as well.:D

Fair enough. I couldn't see Phillips scoring any to be honest, Beckham I know has a couple of good seasons left in him before he goes cack...but Phillips I thought had already gone to be honest. I have had Kanu in the championship and he sucked so can't imagine how he would be in the EPL.

Unlucky on Sychev, think he plays for Lokomotiv Moscow so might not be on depending on databases. Good player as well...getting goals in the EPL for me.

Steele is good stick with him....although if you do need to make a quick £1m or 2, lots of clubs will be interested if you offer - even Arsenal, Man Utd etc...

That team I put is pretty much my strongest team....It's a new game and I am not the host so couldn't tell you exactly who I have got as don't have it loaded.

Much did you pay for Milevskyi?

As for the thread, it's meant to be a story so I think you should update it more often and include more screenhots. I would say semi-annual updates is a MUST but quarter annual is recommended. That way you will get more followers :)
