Midnight Launch? - Steam

I was just going do download FM 11 on Friday morning from steam but I have just been thinking they do midnight launches for some big console games and that it may go up after 12 on Thursday night?

Is anyone able to confirm this?
 
Game will be available in portugal at midnight in lots of stores... idk about steam
 
They did it for the demo, so may well for the full-game.. I've pre-ordered mine for the 5th, but don't know whether to cancel my order, and just download from steam!
 
Normally Steam lets you preload your preordered games so as soon as the release date ticks over you can start playing.

Personally mate I would get it from steam, I have pre ordered many xbox 360 games online over the years and usually got them a day early but in the last 2 years I have lost my faith in royal mail! (lets put it one way, If I had not bought another copy of Fifa 11 I would still be waiting for it to arrive now!)

Hmm. It is from GAME though as opposed to Zaavi.. Thanks for the advice mate!
 
Ordered mine from ShopTo. Not that bothered if it doesn't come by release day, but I hear they have them in stock now so it should do.
 
Ordered mine from Play just for special pre-order bonus. Play normally delivers on day or day before. If there wasn't a pre-order bonus, I'd have gone for my Gameplay bonus. Mind that, I still haven't used last years pre-order bonus....

i buy the disk then install via steam, but i don't care about the game i am just looking forward to the mouse you get from play :O!!
 
Still undecided if I am going to get it. Was looking on Steam yesterday and there is a countdown to when you will be able to download it.

This game will unlock in approximately 5 days and 5 hours
 
I also buy the disc and install using steam so I get all the updates automatically. I have pre ordered from zavvi so hopefully will be here on the day of release. Last year was a little crazy as there were all postal strikes going on at the time. Only reason I dont only use steam is if the internet connection fails or goes down ur screwed until resolved. Always have the disc as back up. Anyone else used or using zavvi and do they usually deliver on the day of release. Only used em once and last year, as I recall it came a day late because of the strikes.
 
Think i'll do that then (buy disk and install via steam) - sounds sensible :)

Back on topic, I don't think we know whether it will be released at midnight on thursday 4th november, but if that is going to happen, i'm sure one of Jake/Sean/Kris etc. will post it, and Miles Jacobsen will say on twitter, and SI.com etc.
 
Well the demo was released at midnight so you'd think the full game will be as well.

Here's for hoping though.
 
yes if you preorder games on steam then it allows you to preload (install) the game a couple of days before release so you have it ready to play on the day of release. Will probably preorder from steam in the next couple of days.
 
I'm not sure if steam is different in other regions, but in the US you can pre-load it now.
 
I have just preloaded my game on steam, locked until midnight on the 5th. At least it saves trying to download it on the 5th when everyone else will be doing it at the same time, only took 20 mins. Also the editor is unlocked for you to use straight the way, so if anyone is a wiz at adding extra leagues give it a go, i tried but im rubbish at it!
 
Im playing the full game right now...shame no ones on for a network game ;)
