Most of you will think who the f*** is Milanic? Well Darko Milanic is a former manager of the most successfull Slovenian club side NK Maribor. He lead this little club, by european standards, into the group stage of UEFA Europa League in the Season 2011/2012. The highlight was knocked-out the European giant Glasgow Rangers. LINK, just love the smurf on the face of McCoist after the goal from Maribor :)

Well enough of the history lesson, let's look at the tactic. Milanic used a traditional 4-4-2 rigid system, that transformed into a 4-2-3-1 when in possession. The formation looks like this:

Description of Roles:
GK defend: Standard GK really
DL/DR automatic: Full backs set on auto, but if you feel more adventerus you can change them to wing backs. Well thats hot Milanic used them anyway.
DC defend: standard strong defenders. Look for a partnership of one being strong in the air and one more pacey.
MCl defend: the holding and creative force in midlefield, set as deep playmaker on defend. Play starts with him.
MCr support: the advanced destroyer in midlefield and link to the attacking force, set up as ball winner support.
AMl attack: set as Inside forward, that cuts inside and causes havoc in the attacking half.
AMr support: set as Winger support, the traditional winger.
STl support: set as Deep Forward on support, that drops deep to create space for other players. Let's say a False 9'ish player.
STr attack: set as Advanced Forward, the main goal threat.

I'm curently testing it with the club he had so much success NK Maribor. My 1. season, won the league as expected. Most goals scored, best defence.

But also holidayed it with Tottenham (predicted 6th) and Blackpool (predicted 20th). This were the results in league. Ou and in Tottenham test they also won the FA Cup.

THIS IS STILL IN TESTING, SO NO GUARENTED SUCCESS.
