Hi, i started to play with Millwall because i know how much most of England hate them :) so..here is my story..

On the 7th of July, South-East London team Millwall F.C. has announced John Sadler as their new manager. The Croat's signature on the paper brings him 3,800£ per week which bounds him until July, 2011.

The expectations are playoff in League One, Third Round of FA Cup, Second Round of League Cup and Johnstone's Paint Trophy will be based on other competitions.

Transfer budget : 0£ ( I didn't allow Transfer budget in first window)

Wage budget : 38,337 £ per week | 86,963 £ per week

Millwall didn't have money for transfers but altough that they bought amazingly 17 players in first window. All free players, and 2 biggest signings were Tabare Viudez and Sol Campbell.

Pre-season began with match against Reserve Squad.

Millwall - Millwall Reserves 5-1

Lewis Grabban ( 12, 40 ) | Steve Morison ( pen 74 )

Gary Alexander ( 46 ) | .
Neil Harris ( 53, 77 ) | .

After that match Millwall had 4 wins and 2 losses. Every match before last one was insignificant. Last match of Pre-season was between The Lions and The Hammers, and you all know what club is that.

Unfortunately The Lions lost match of the year for their fans, but they were not too disappointed. After all, their new manager Sadler came on the bench only 1 month earlier and he didn't have much time to prepare his team for this kind of match.

Millwall F.C.:

Millwall is playing normal 4-4-2 formation ...

Sadler had excatly one week to prepare his lads for the season match against Southampton.]

Great match which provided 5 goals. Two time lead from Southampton was broken in just three minutes by Bobson and Viola. But for manager Sadler the result wasn't so important, before match he worried how will his team play. After match he said : " I'm pleased with performance, altought we could do better then that. I didn't care to much for result, team played very well and only that matters. On the end , result is bonus. "

Today, what we saw. Only one team played, abd that is Millwall. Sadler said : " Orient wasn't decent opponent today so we can't base our play on them. They've had only 1 shoot on target . "

Great match, great chances on both sides. Biggest chance of game was for Sheff Utd to celebrate in 90+2 min. Ched Evans was one on one with Henk Timmer, but Timmer and the post saved Millwall. On the end of the game it finished 1-1, that seems fair after report. Sadler : " Today my team showed that we can win everyone, i'm very proud on them and I hope they will continue with this form. "

Good match by Millwall, Gillingham was very dangerous at result 0:1, but they didn't succed make it even . Then Serhat scored for 2:0 and it was all over, Weston tryed to wake up home team, but simply there was no time. Sadler : " Great performance, by only one player. That makes me sad, never mind. We must go on, and become even better then we are at the moment. "

Poor performance by both teams, until 75th minute we didn't see anything exciting. Sadler : " Again I must tell that only one player solved this match, I hope that my team will start to play like one. At the end, I must tell that I was amazed from beautiful chip by Kabous in 75th minute. "

Next match is against Crystal Palace in League Cup ....

| .
Penalty Shoot-out :
Lee Hills scored | Neil Harris scored
Neil Danns missed | Viola scored
Shaun Derry missed | Hamed Namouchi scored
. | Tabare Viudez scored

Unbelieveable match by Millwall. Today we saw "The Lions" like never before in away match. They outclassed The Eagles like they were from lower League. Amazing is only that Cardacio saved Millwall in 89th minute, and that Crystal made it until penalties. Sadler : " I have nothing to say except compliments to my team. They leaved heart out there on the pitch, and that is showed by result. We could win this match easily because of way how we played, but we can be happy that we are through at the end. "

26.09.2009, Saturday
Brisbane Road ( Attendance : 8738 )
Refereed by : Cooper, I
15:00
Leyton Orient - Millwall 0:0

Boring match, one or two chances on both side but all fans who were watching this match went home disappointed. We've expected more from Millwall after match between these two teams in League Cup. But they were little bit reserved in this match. Well, who can blame them after Crystal Palace away game. Sadler : " Well, I don't know what to say after this game. We were little tired and I can understand lads for this game. "

Next match is against Yeovil in League One ....

Neil Harris (65 ) | Gavin Tomlin ( 51 )
Serhat ( 82 ) | .
Sol Campbell sent off ( 39 ) | .

Stunning match by Millwall who didn't play until goal from Tomlin. Then "The Lions" played like other team on the pitch and with 10 players they succed to win the match by goal from Serhat in 82nd minute. Sadler :" I'm disappointed today, first of all on Sol Campbell. He returned and first touch with the ball, he makes mistake and tackles opponent then geting the red card. I'm only satisfied with time after red card, then we played like we should play from begining."

Next match is against Tranmere in League One ....

105005a_0_L60Zu.jpg

what instructions and all that are you using, i only ask as im struggling in league 1

I'm using philosophy fluid at home matches....Closing Down : Press more ( always ) Tackling : more aggressive ( always ) Zonal Marking....and touchline Look For Overlap at home matches...
in away matches i set Counter strategy and touchline Pass into space....hope this will help ;)

Very bad match by Millwall, to that we could all judge on The Den. Tranmere could win this match easy but only luck saved Millwall. Sadler : " I'm very disappointed with my team. That's all I have to say. "

Simon Ferry ( pen 4 ).............|-.........................Kevin Bobson ( 23 )
.
........... |-.................................Neil Harris ( 35, 90+1 )

This is totaly different team that we saw against Tranmere. Great performance by " The Lions ", Swindon can be happy with result, it could be lot worse . Sadler : Today, you all saw this match, and last one. And now you can tell why was I so angry few days ago.

Sensational performance by Oli Johnson bring Stockport unbelievable win against first team on the table . This was absolutely the worst performance by " The Lions " during Sadler's time in club . Sadler : " No comments. "

.......................Viola ( 81 ) |-..................Patrick Kisnorbo ( 30 )
..............Serhat missed penalty ( 14 )

Great match by both sides, but it's fair that Millwall won this match. They had better chances and that proves result on the end. Almost 20 000 supporters enjoyed this game and went happy home after the match. Sadler : " I'm satisfied with their performance, and I can only tell that Serhat won't shoot any more penalties. Leeds is, and always will be unpleasant opponent. It's good that we got victory today . "

Millwall - Aston Villa 1:2

.................Kevin Bobson ( 79 ).......|-..........Gabby Agbonlahor ( 28 )
...........................................................|-..........Curtis Davies ( 85 )

We must admit, Millwall deserved to win this match. Unfortunately for them they receive goal in 85th minute and didn't have time to equalize. Sadler : " I can tell that I am very proud on my team, i feel little bit sorry because we deserve to be trough, but luck wasn't on ours side. "

Bad performance by both sides and that we can tell by result. We can understand Millwall, but Colchester have no excuse. Sadler : " I'm not too disappointed, because they showed me against Aston Villa that we can win everyone. This match only finished this way because my boys were tired . "
