Monaco league and national team

Hello!

I picked up the game yesterday and this is my first post.

I would like to create a Monégasque league and make Monaco playable as a nation. I have played around with the editor, but am very new and it is going to take me some time to get a handle on it. So I'd like to get some help!

Here is what I want to do:

-- Monaco National Team
-- Grand Prix 1 League
-- Grand Prix 2 League

There seems to be 3 cups that Monégasque clubs play for:

Challenge Prince Rainier III
Challenge Monégasque
Trophée Ville de Monaco

I want to move AS Monaco into the Grand Prix and need to know how to swap so the French league doesn't cause a data error.

Here was some teams I found:

Fonction Publique
Monaco Telecom Le Groupe
SBM Administration
SBM Slot Machines
Sun Casino
Jeunesse et Sport des Monéghetti
Ribeiro Freres
Mairie de Monaco
Palais Princier
Sûreté Publique
Hôpital
GEM Bâtiment
Café de Paris

So if someone could give me direction, I'd really appreciate it.

I have read through this and it is very helpful. When it comes to Monaco, there are a couple of things that stand out. One is it doesn't come up as nation (not even other countries tab). So a question is do I duplicate Monaco and edit or do I need to replace a country and edit in the Monaco information.

I have been trying to make Monaco playable as is, but I don't think it is possible even with the database hacks I've downloaded. It simply doesn't show up in other nations when you want to add nation rules.

When I go to duplicate the country it comes up as Yugoslavia. I assume that I can overwrite the information. When I get to creating the leagues, this becomes more complicated--still not exactly sure how to do this.

Well I figured out why I couldn't activate Monaco. I was forgetting to select the continent tab which was disabled. Now it shows up!

Hi, I've been trying to make a nation show up, can you tell me how you did this please? I have created a nation however every time I 'Add Nation Rules' i get a message telling me there is a problem.

Mike, first download the two hacks found in the #2 post of this thread:

Make sure it goes into: ...\tools\editor\data\format\database ui

This will overwrite and allow you to make any nation playable.

Then go into the editor, load the database and do a search under country to find Monaco. You can then make the changes you need. Remember to select the continent tab which was disabled and pick Europe. I kept forgetting to do this and it wouldn't show up in other nations.

I am a complete noob to this, but hopefully it helps!

So you have edited an exising nation? Do you know if it's possible to start one from scratch?

These are all professional teams with names and locations coming from the traditional quarters and wards of Monaco.

I created a new stadium for the national team Stade Rainier III and is also the home field for AS Monaco.

Cups [incomplete]

Challenge Prince Rainier III
Challenge Monégasque
Trophée Ville de Monaco

Right now I am stumped. Haven't figured out how to do this yet. When I get to the last page of the Add Cup under the nation rules, it doesn't allow me to select anything. I am guessing I will have to duplicated create a new competition.

Two more questions:

How do I get the league eligible so teams can play in Champions League and so on?

Will the national team at some point become eligible to play in EC and WC? Running a test game, Monaco was not selected for the 2012 European Qualification. Wondering if they will the next time around and also if they will be selected for WC 2014 qualification.

have you made monaco a full fifa member because that is how they will be able to qualify i presume
 
i think you may want to give them some euro coefficents aswell for the club teams to qualify for the champions league and euro cup.
 
you said you couldn't create any cups, but you've created a cup. have you added teams into the cup in the creating part?

No, haven't created a cup yet. Cannot do it from Monaco menu. I think I need to create a competition from the database menu and then add teams. Correct?

BTW -- AS Monaco qualified for Champions League, (Monte Carlo for UEFA) so that works!

Now I am continuing forward to see if the national team will be picked for WC European qualification groups.

Even then what your are creating is on a really large scale so I would love to play it
 
This was fun to see:

2009 Grand Prix--season 1. No teams in continental competition.
2010 Grand Prix--season 2. League gets 1 Europe Cup spot (AS Monaco)
2011 Grand Prix--season 3. League gets 1 Europe Cup spot (AS Monaco)
2012 Grand Prix--season 4. League gets 1 Champions Cup spot (AS Monaco) and 2 Europe Cup Spots (Monte Carlo and La Condamine)

Very cool progression!

If you set Monaco to central Europe, no spot for WC qualification. If you set to South Europe you get WC. Interesting.

No EC qualification for 2012. Still progressing to see if it happens the next time around.
 
Can you play as the national team?


Ive created my nation and have the leagues up and running but I can't take over my national team.

I like your work btw very good concept :D

Yes, you can play as the national team! I am currently in the European Qualification stage for the 2014 WC.

Not sure if you figured this out yet, but here's what you do --

In the competitions tab create a new competition and assign it to Monaco -- do not add in any teams or you will turn it into a league and it won't be selectable in the nations rules as a cup.

In the add nations rules go to add cup and your competition will now be selectable. It will ask you to add in the teams here (by choosing divisions to get teams from.)

When you have finished with the wizard you can change who qualifies for the tournament (if you wish) at the bottom of the main window (on the newly created cup's main page.)
