Monaco national team

How can I manage the monaco national team without creating a new nation or overwriting an extinct one? The game has a skeleton monaco nation that I have added a continent to and full fifa membership so it shows up in international competition but I still cannot take control. My plan is to slowly turn as monaco into a strong club with fresh young talent without buying big names and I would also like to try and create in a good national side in the long term.

Any help?

I am no expert, but maybe you can't manage it because there are not enough players of that nationality. Maybe you should change the nationality of all the players of Monaco, or you can create new ones as well.
