Monaco - who to buy/sell?

Starting a season with Monaco and not sure who to sign.

Preferably French players.

I will be playing a 4-2-3-1
(2 defensive minded players at CM, 2 wide players and an adv playmaker behind Falcao)

Looking to maybe sign Cabaye and Varane but may need to sell to bring in more players.

Do you want young players or instant impact?If you want young players try Lemare from Caen or Nangis.For first team Ben Arfa,Pogba(i know it sounds funny but i signed him for 35m)...
 
1. Varane is unbuyable / extremely expensive in the first couple of seasons at least so forget him.
2. Send back the Brazilian loan you have to free up one of your four non eu spaces and buy somebody like Mitrovic cos other than Falcao you re a bit light up top.
3. Cabaye is a good option at CM. Shneiderlin is awesome in FM and I would go for him also. Guido Pizarro who has an Italian second nationality is not terribly expensive and is also brill.
4. For the wide positions Griezmann is a brilliant option if you ve got the dosh.
5. Another French player you must target is Seb Corchia whos brill as a fb/wb on either side.
6. I think the board wants you to buy high profile players so fir the amc playmaker position Hamsik would be perfect if you can afford him. Or play Ocampos there and ask the Board not to expect high profile transfers (they always agree).
7. But with Monaco there are 2 main problems: first there are not that many players to sell and those who are sellable wont generate much money. And the second is that you are very near the Financial Fair Play limits and if you go overboard with spending you ll be penalised.

Instant impact for CM but besides that I'm flexible

I always see City buying Varane do thought I'd give it a bash but after what you've said maybe not.

You can try mate though frankly even if you do get him you d be wasting your money that needs to be spent elsewhere. If you spend judiciously you can give PSG a run for their, ahem, money!
 
I know there are other threads for this but on the note of Monaco has anyone had a good 4-2-3-1 tactic? Or any tactic?

thinking of starting a save with monaco how you all finding it, like the idea of having shed loads of money:)
 
I have tried managing Monaco quite a few times and end up giving up because its so unrealistic to how they are IRL, no matter who you buy, no matter what tactic, you struggle against teams Monaco are soooo much better than. Its just crazy and infuriating
 
You want a CB who grows to be a monster? Samuel Umtiti. And he's french. He's available at throwaway prices in the 2nd season, dunno about the first though.

Schneiderlin is an excellent option for CM (Assuming it's not a BWM you're thinking about), and he's french too.

Well I have to agree with the above at the moment! My team on paper is incredible but they are just terrible in games!

That was the case in FM13 also to the point that I actually did two saves with them to make sure. But they were quite fun ...
