Arsene Wenger manages final Arsenal game
Frenchman confirmed departure in February 2014.
Arsene Wenger has managed his last game as Arsenal boss with a 0-2 loss to Norwich.
Wenger announced in February that he would be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season regardless of their league position and the search to replace the Frenchman has begun. Wenger's final season at Arsenal was one to forget despite the club's nine year trophy drought ended with victory in the Capital One Cup as the Gunners finished in sixth place, behind rivals Tottenham on goal difference. Arsenal have said announced an interim manager will be put in place as the board want to choose the right man for the job. Steve Bould, Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Jurgen Klopp and Roberto Martinez are all favourites for the job with Klopp odds on to succeed Le Professeur.

Arsenal appoint Tony Adams as interim manager.
Tony Adams to temporarily take charge while club search for successor.
Tony Adams has been appointed interim manager at Arsenal while the board look for a successor to Arsene Wenger. The news comes 24 hours after Wenger's last game in charge was a 2-0 defeat to Norwich. Adams has spoken of his interest to take the job full-time but has stated his main intentions is to stabilize Arsenal if Adams does not take charge come the first game of the season. Adams said,
I'm honoured that I've been given the chance to take charge at Arsenal even if it is for a few weeks, months or even days. While I'm here I've been tasked to stabilize the team so a new manager can come in. I'd love to take the job full time but I'm fully aware that it is not guaranteed.
Arsenal were heavily criticized for failing to sign a striker in the summer and winter transfer windows. The Gunners brought in Antonio Candreva from Lazio for ?12 million and Nicholas Nkoulou from OM for ?12.75 million in the summer before resigning Gael Clichy on January deadline day for ?8.75 million after Nacho Monreal's departure on the same day to Roma for ?6.25 million. Candreva and Nkoulou were regulars during the season with neither player having any major effect. Wenger was praised for convincing Bacary Sagna to sign a new deal at the club. Adams has praised the club's squad but has confirmed changes will be made in the summer.
The squad are fantastic and shouldn't of finished in sixth place. There will be some chopping and changing in the summer but nothing too major. The club have a great defence, we will need a new goalkeeper because Fabianski wants first team football and Viviano will be returning to Italy. Nicklas Bendtner wants to leave so we will need a striker, a position I feel Arsenal do need to strengthen. We will also need a holding midfielder preferably a youngster who can learn from Mikel Arteta.
Mikel Arteta's future has been the subject of debate with some pundits insisting Arteta must be sold while some reports have been circulated that Arteta will sign a deal to become a player-coach.
