Sir Alex Ferguson’s team have also been linked with CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev who would almost certainly be a long term replacement for Dutch keeper Edwin van der Sar.

CSKA has reportedly admitted defeat in their attempts to keep the highly rated 'keeper and have given Akinfeev permission to discuss a winter move.

i have been complaining for 3 seasons now that Utd need to invest in a quality Gk cause Ben is just the worst keeper in the world next too Dudek <)

i will pray every night for Ferguson to bring him in

I would love to see Akinfeev in the prem just not to Man U. Please Igor I am begging you go somewhere else!
 
He would be a class signing, but it may only be a rumour mate so don't get your hopes up :(

Yeah go on youtube mate and type in Igor Akinfeev class, it always comes up with some immense saves from him :)

he is a quality keeper in real life dude!
he was immense for Russia in Euro 08!!!
i had a feeling this would happen, true story like Vidic, every year i would buy this guy from Red Star or something named Vidic in my CM games ages ago and all of a sudden, one seaon we get him IRL, it was weird.

ben foster is kak dude, i am a better keeper than him! true story!

he would only go to UTD!!! haahhaha

joking mate, i love Newcastle! Man Utd will be perfect for him! we all know that!

i really hope Ferguson realises that we are in dire need of a GK and uses some of the cash we have to bring him in! so excited <)
 
'sif a goalkeeper needs to "gel". A good goalie will do well in any club, gimme a break.
 
Lol, yeah Man Utd could use a better Keeper. I don't rate Foster and Van Der Sar is getting on a bit.
 
I wonder how much we will pay for him?
i think we will get him for about 12.5 million (CSKA wont let him go for cheap!)
 
I have not seen this guy enough in real life to comment but if i was a Man Utd fan i would want a keeper with more experience.
 
fair enough kris, i do rate him in real life, i think he is a mature GK for his age and is 1st choice for Russian national team for over a year now and will learn alot from Van der Sar if brought in in Jan.

he is like Fabregas, nothing phases him even at such a young age.

thats my opinion anyway <)

i think ben foster is ow on confidence he is an outstanding keeper and maybe a future england number 1, getting dropped after one mistake isnt gonna make him any better i seriously think he needs a chance as i have seen him when he plays well and he is up there with the best
 
£12.5m would be a bargain. CSKA shouldn't let him go for under 20.
 
he wud be an amazing keeper for us and its not a rumour as fergie did say he is lookin at signing him in summer but we left it too late to get his work permit :(
