I have tried for 3 years to make at least one good tactic. But I haven't. I've tried all the strategies and ideas there are out there, but none of them work for me!

I don't know where to go from here, what to do.

Lads, please enlighten me with your tactical knowledge and help me.

I don't need help on specific areas, just the whole notion of making tactics.

Thanks.

Think about the quality of players you posess. If you have one stand out player focus all your plays through him. If you have a short striker pass to feet and dont use long balls as he wont see much of the ball. If your players have high speed get them to run with the ball. Exploit your teams strengths. If you need any advice please vm me and i will be more than happy to help.

You could try to look at which roles suit your players best and base your tactic around that. If you have a player who excells at being a targetman, give him the role as a targetman. Also, make sure the player roles fit each other.

Another thing to look at is your tempo and passing. Do you want your passing to be short and quick? Then I would suggest not putting tempo low.

andyconor, there's no "silver bullet" regarding designing a successful tactic. It takes time and patience and a clear idea of what you want from your team.

A few questions to set you up in the search of making your own tactics and ultimately reward yourself with your achievement:

1-what approach do you want your team to take? Attacking or Defensive
2-what's your football model? (technical, passing, flair and skill or route one, direct or kick it to row Z)
3-is your squad capable of playing your model?
4-do you have enough players and numbers to play your model? my rule of thumb is 2 first eleven outfield players plus 3 Gk.
5-watch full matches and see where you can improve.

good luck
