Just beat a liverpool team who used a 3 man defence. The assistant was telling me that my forward line was being outnumbered by their defensive line. I normally play with 1 up top anyway against a 4 man back line and don't get the comment to appear so I am wondering what I could do to counter this potential threat to my attack?

Ps I have played with 2 up top and have had the same outcome

I wouldn't pay too much attention to it. Having three men at the back against a lone striker is a tactical failure from the opposition (unless one of them is a libero), and it should lead your team having most of the possession. Just adjust more runs from midfield, if you're struggling to create CCC's, or overload the flanks.
