Typical! Just as FM14 comes to an end I discover the tactic that I've been striving for!
Well, it's not so much a tactic as a suite of 4 tactics based on 1 original I first created following Germany's World Cup triumph.
The original Uber Alles tactic was a very fluid 4-3-3.

From this I created the 4-2-3-1.

Followed by the 4-4-2.

And finally, the 4-4-2 DIAMOND.

A combination of the four tactics produced this incredible, invincible (almost!) season.

I used the first 3 tactics up to Christmas, where I had a minor blip. From Christmas onwards I almost exclusively used the DIAMOND tactic. I had found the other tactics to be a little leaky at times and DIAMOND solved the problem. As you can see from the results, it concedes very few goals. In fact, it restricts the opposition to very few shots at goal, whilst producing CCCs in abundance.
To improve the pressing on all the tactics in the OIs I highlight the entire opposition squad and choose TIGHT MARKING and CLOSING DOWN - ALWAYS.
Obviously, as I was continually switching tactics, none of them became fluent very quickly. On the other hand, it kept the opposition guessing, which always helps.
For those of you holding off switching to FM15, why not give one or all of these a go! Let me know how you get on.
