Genoa President, Enrico Preziosi officially announced the appointment of Djembries Anthony as a new manager to replace Gian Piero Gasperini. Anthony will be at Luigi Ferarris for three years with a salary of 27 000 euros per week. In a press conference Anthony claimed that his appointment as manager of Genoa is a dream come true. "Previously I did not imagine going to handle this team. This is a big challenge. I am grateful to Enrico [Preziosi] who has trusted me to enter as part of the team," said the 38-year-old coach.
Genoa target this season is to qualify for the Champions League, and to fulfill that dream, Grifoni management has set aside 15 billion euros for the expense of players.

Sculli was approached by Real Madrid and AS Roma, but Anthony dismissed the news. "We're discussing a new contract with the player [Sculli]. He is happy here and will not go anywhere."[/FONT]

Genoa succeeded in bringing Udinese midfielder Niki Zimling with four-year contract for 2.6 billion euros. 24-year-old player is the fifth player to join the Grifoni after completing the transfer of FC Groningen wing back, Sepp De Roover and young midfielder Marc Mateu from Levante at the previous day.
