David Beckham takes over as Manchester United manager for the 2009/2010 season as Sir Alex Ferguson steps down.
With high hopes on club favourite David Beckhams shoulders could he deliver.
Two seasons on and no title has been brought back to Old Trafford, and not even close to a Carling Cup or FA Cup victory. However fans at Old Trafford have kept fait in Beckham as he brought the Champions League trophy back to Manchester in his first season, beating Real Madrid on their on back turf!

Bargin Buy!
Fighting all the way for the title with Chelsea but relying on Chelsea to drop point at home on the last day of the season was a bit too much to ask. A respectable 2nd place first time round for Beckham, fans couldnt of asked for any more effort from the players. Hopes were still high in Manchester as they had a Champions League Final to look forward to in Madrid against yes you guessed REAL MADRID and of course with a mix of old and young players we came out on top 2-1!

Will they live upto their price tag!
Hopes were high at Old Trafford, after leaving last season on a high. Wholesale changes were made as Beckham believed it was time to re vamp the squad even more and vetrans Giggs, Scholes and Van der Sar we removed from the first team. Again United faild in the early rounds of the Carling and FA Cup, and their silverware hopes only lay with the Premer League and Champions League. December was the down fall as United travelled to Asia for the World Club Cup Championship which we won beating River Plate in extra time.

However this success saw them drop down the table and with an injury hitten squad struggled to pick up point on their return as Arsenal seemed to run away with the title. United fans mentally prepared for another season without a Premier League Title were hoping for another successful campaign in Europe, facing the challenge of regaing the European Cup was a task on its own. As this reformed squad progressed into the Quarter Finals they faced previous champions Inter Milan. 2-0 from the first leg, the second leg was sure to be a classic. Bringing it back to 2-2 on agg it went to extra time and as we were getting prepared for penalties Wesley Sneijder smacked one in form 35 yards and Uniteds dream of another European Cup were dashed!

Wesley Sneijder celebrating the winning goal that saw them go on and defeat Lyon at Wembley to be crowned European Champions twice in 3 years.

INTER MILAN 2011 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WINNERS!
Back in the Premier League a late surge from United picked up hopes but in the end it was one too many points to catch the league leaders and we ended the season 5 points behind the new champions!
