Hi,

I am currently man city in my game, so i started off with some pretty decent attacking options, however the likes of aguero, dzeko negredo and jovetic or anyone i stuck in strike rarely scored it was mainly yaya toure or a defender. I wondered why this was and attempted to change my formations, to 4222 4231 4132 etc, i changed my strikers roles, and instructions and still no luck, so i put it down to 2 things.... for some reason "shoot less often" means literally nothing as jack rodwell, fernandinho and other just shoot constantly and waste great opportunities to give it to my strikers, also maybe aguero was just out of form and negredo and dzeko were just ****.... so i sold dzeko and bought lewandowski, however i am now 7 games in with him, he has neither a goal or assist, and he doesn't even look like scoring he misses constantly, and i either sub him off or he finishes the game on a 5.5-6.0 its just tragic. I cant seem to win convincingly without a striker that can score goals, i thought between them aguero and lewandowski would get goals, i was sadly mistaken. Also ive trained them to place shots, improve finishing and composure etc and still no luck. I wondered if anyone had any tips for me or perhaps anyone is currently/ was previously in a similar situation to me where there straikers finish games on a low rating and fail to score. I have also played previous fm games where ive had no problems with strikers scoring goals so, is it this game, is it me, is it my tactics (which are similar to previous games) or something else i dont know but please of you have any tips, help or advice for me it would be much appreciated...

cheers,

it could be your tactics OR it could be because most of your opponents sit deep and don't let your players in the box which in real life actually happens ( well not to Norwich lol ) so you may need to find a way to open there defenders, having a shadow striker with a deep lying forward and 2 inside forwards could open them up.

The recepie is to play with F9 OR use no strikers at all. Pul lthem down to AMC, adn it will increase you're possesion and if you have a Shadow Striker (aguero) he should put in quite a few goals.

I also got same problem and even worst last time... my strikers open goal or one on one miss!
or shoot to sky... but now I play Complete forward and Poach (2 Strikers) improve alot
It false 9 help alot for striker role? What is false 9?

thanks for your help guys, will definitely give it a go, youre right about not being able to carve open opponents, my goals are mainly from crosses which find there way to nasri or perhaps a longshot from yaya toure, but certainly im not getting in behind, im not sure how to do it on this one, as on the last one you could tell your players to make more forward runs etc but i cant find on option for that on this, so it could well be my tactics also. But I will try false 9 shadow striker etc, but that brings me to me next question, wont they just take shots if they have that space, as on fm 13 i used to play tevez up front and aguero behind him, and aguero scored alot more than tevez from the AMC role but not from long shots, from making runs past tevez as he wasnt being marked, however i have tried to put aguero behind the likes of dzeko but he just takes long shots and wastes possession, rather than making those runs behind the defence. so my next question is can you please tell me how to get my players to make runs in behind the defence?

when i was united, i signed Jackson Martinez, who ended up scoring 20 before xmas, RVP was also on around the same, and Hernandez not too far behind, playing less games, i attacked down both flanks and 2 up front, AF and DLF both on attack duties...my strikers seem to score alot

also at half time, i tend to press work in to box because i find it may confuse the opposition that you come out attacking in a different way

right sure cheer, so thats like a creator, scorer partnership sort of cutting back to pass etc, what do you think i should do with lewandowski and aguero up front? how could they work together does anyone think?
