Im quite bored and need something to take me through to the release of Football Manager 2010. So i thought id be Valencia! Theyre a decent team with a few great players that we all know like the Villa's and Silva's. I can see a few weak areas but i should be able to work around them because of my influential and experienced players. Im using the V7 update by the way

I told the board i could challenge for the tittle and they gave me a lousy 5.75m:O

sounds good, im din a new man u one on the 9.3.0 update :D

Ya shouldnt need money with the players you have, but good luck anyway :D

Progress

Ive been making a new tactic for the new team and will start playing pre-season now. The squad is ok apart from maybe a new targetman and a new centre back. I had Zapata, Fazio and Gamberini in mind but i cant make up my mind so any advice would be nice:) Im happy now as i requested more money from the board and they suprisingly gave it to me8-|A whole 10m.

obviously they give you little money, in real life they have 400M in debt.
Anyways good luck will be following

Good luck, hope you do well, check out my Portsmouth thread :)

The first friendly went well with a convincing 6-0 against a lacklustre Mouscron. We controlled the game with 72% possession. We had goals from(In order) Miguel(15), David Silva(34), David Villa(45+1), Juan Manuel Mata(48) and Nicola Zigic(60 and 62). Zigic got the man of the match accolade for his brace. This was a good result but im worried as only 32% of my crosses completedoO)

Breaking news! Valencia have completed the 11m signing of Cristian Zapata from Udinese. The Valencia boss is said to have wanted to inject some pace into his backline and this lead him to Zapata. Zapata's pace is said to have swayed him away from his other target Federico Fazio. Valencia previously signed Mark Viduka and Dodo

Mons 0 - Valencia 7

A good performance from my backup team i thought id give them a game to get them match fit. It was an easy match which we dominated. A hatrick from free signing Dodo put Valencia on their way. Dodo(15), Maduro(19), Mark Viduka(26), Dodo(45+1), Dodo(50), Vicente(56), Juan Manuel Mata(81). Dodo was the man of the match with his hatrick.

Nacional da Madeira 0 - Valencia 3

A decent performance. I would of liked to have kept more possesion but oh well. A great performance from David Villa though he got a brace and both of his goals were from really tight angles. David Silva(28), David Villa(35), David Villa(50). Villa was the man of the match

Heracles 0 - Valencia 4

A good game, it was another outing for my second team and they're pretty solid and should be able to fill the first team players boots with ease.
Dodo(12), Mark Viduka(17), Hedwiges Maduro(pen 34), Dodo (57). Dodo was man of the match again and will hopefully be a wonder sub :)

Willem II 0 - Valencia 2

It was a laid back game and i told the lads to relax and enjoy the run out so that was the result but we did well and controlled the game. New boy Jonathan Cristaldo got a goal on his unofficial debut. David Villa (pen 10), Jonathan Cristaldo(44). Joaquin was the man of the match but Cristaldo, Zigic and Abelda werent far off him.

Valencia 4 - Cadiz 0

A decent result but we should've played better we only kept 47% of the possession. It was another outing for my backup team and it was the last of their pre season campaign
Ignacio Gonzalez(14), Ignacio Gonzalez(15), Enrique(own goal), Dodo(83). It was a man of the match performance for my fill in attacking midfielder.

Good results and nice signing in Zapata.Keep it up;)

Ive got a few new updates. Ive just finished the pre season and im confident of going into the new season. Weve had good results and the team is playing well together. Ive uploaded pictures of my first team, second team, fixtures, transfers and my pre season matches.

Well ive just played a great Supercopa Final against Real Madrid and guess who was my hero David Villa!

First Leg:

Valencia 1 - 0 Madrid

We played really well and dominated and David Villa got the all important goal right at the end(81). We should've won more comfortably but we wasted alot of chances. David Silva was the man of the match and terrorised Sergio Ramos all game.

Second leg:

Real Madrid 3 - Valencia 2

Real started off really well and started to dominate so i changed to a more controlling/defensive tactic and it paid off because on 27 minutes our vice captain Carlos put us ahead with a powerful header from a corner. After half time Real found their bearings and dominated and Benzema volleyed it past Moya after he parried Kaka shot. We finnaly got them on the counter attack and Villa was though and made no mistake he rounded Casilias and passed it into the net. We were 2-1 up and 3-1 on aggregate so i decided to keep defending but our luck changed when Jeremy Mathieu brought Ronaldo down and he slotted away the penalty comfortably, six minutes late Ronaldo put Real in front with a powerful strike from 25 yards. I had enough of sitting back and told the lads to attack, they kept possession and were knocking on Casilias's door but he didnt open :(. The game finished and it was 3-3 on aggregate so Valencia won on away goals.

The season is about to start with my first game away at Almeria. I will post monthly updates to anyone that will be following ;)
