OK so i'm Liverpool in a future savegame so mostly regens. All you need to know about my quad is it's easily one of the top 2 or 3 in the league right now in terms of individual quality.
Good versatility means i've got all my current position covered and I also have two tactics but need a third. Im in my second season in charge. i have the best asst mgr in the world.

OK so my main tactic is a 4-2-3-1 attacking formation with offside trap and a Treq (AMC) in the middle of the three. Typically the striker is a poacher. I'm happy with this as I get loads of goals and concede very few because ball retention is very good.

My second tactic is a 4-4-2 but play style varies from one opponent to the next, as i find 4-4-2 comes down to style settings a lot of the time. I'm still tweaking and experimenting my way through, but in truth I really only play this formation because I need to make use of my very talented wingers who don't get played enough games and its a struggle to keep them happy.

But i desperately need a third and i know I can forge a good one with the players at my disposal. Im looking for one which uses AML/AMR Wingers (not inside forwards as i don't have any; my wingers are natural wingers) and advice on which strikers to prefer in this formation and which role to play them in.

So these are my best players who I need to be playing whenever possible - I've ranked them from best downwards...

Santunione ST-Treq
Alessandra CM-Box2Box
Romero DM-Anchor
Benes CM-AdvPl-ATT (can also plays AMC-AttMid & ST-Treq)
Borja ST-Poacher
Hazard AMC-AdvPl-ATT (plays well CM, and is ageing anyways)
Ulivi DR
Diaz DM - Anchor
Aquino SW/DC
Bonadei DL
Carrasco MR/AMR - (also can play MC/AMC)
Toranzo AMR/AMC - Winger wonderkid 20yrs old incredible technical attributes)
Efren & Lucio are my left wingers, although I have right winger who I'm not playing in his natural position at AML but would like to.

So basically i need to use AML/AMR wingers but I've no idea which striker roles can suit a solo striker formation (other than target man). I have two poachers, one advanced forward and one trequartista:

Natural stikers...
Santunione - Trequartista who is a world class player and most attributes are incredible. I've tried him as a poacher which can work despite his comparitvely lower quickness than my others. Deep-lying forward he doesnt play well, or adanced forward. He doesn't shoot enough when a Complete forward. I use him mostly at AMC as a treq - his third fave position, he gets loads of assists from there but thats because of his quality and the formation.
NB. This guy is my set-piece specialist (except penalties).

Borja - Poacher who is 192cm and good in the air and strong. Surprisingly i've not tried him enough as a target man but he can just about manage a Deep-Lying forward role, but only to not let me down it seems as he doesnt perform particularly well there either. Hat-tricks galore as a poacher in my 4-2-3-1 though.

Garcia - This guy doesnt like me much lol (not v responsive in team talks) and he goes ages without playing well or scoring sometimes but when he wants to he puts one away and his tally mounts almost without me realising. I never know quite where to play him - he is an Advanced Forward but, again, great attributes all around. I've played him as a complete forward and he's done well. If i didn't have better players like Santunione & even Borja, I would use him in my solo-striker formation but I need to use the best available for most matches.
Garcia can play at AMR , which is notable. This guy also happens to be the most impressibe with his runs - he'll dribble past everyone when in form and score brilliant goals. Whereas Santunione always hits amazing curled long shots but few ever go in.

My MC playmaker Benes can also play as a ST - Treq as a third position but I'd be wasting him. I can handle him being in AMC but his natural position is CM and I'd like to use him in that much coverted spot in my lineup.

Any advice on the strikers and/or the main issue of me finding a good 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 with advanced wingers would be a great help. :)

PS. Wing-backs are unfortunately out of the question - my squad just doesn't cater for it i'm afraid.

bump, anyone need more info pls let me now :)

I've seen this same save before when I was future Liverpool. I know that my tactic is a very attacking and counter-attacking style tactic. This save might have too many AMCs for you to want to try it though.

Ye there are loadsa playmakers aren't there, and they're all statistically amazing. I've found also a lack of right wingers and loads of left wingers; same with fullbacks.

This is why my main tactic is a 4231 attacking- i play a box-to-box MC, a BWM MC, then three AMCs with various roles & typically a poacher up front. Offside trap helps to retain the ball and fullbacks are key in this tactic.

Trouble is when I play against tougher opposition (or similar) away from home and they also attack (like R. Madrid). I'm having trouble playing all kinds of Premiership opposition away from home and my away record is terrible. I'm still tinkering with tactics even now nearly a season after my OP.

I struggle with the attacking teams in my league right now: West Brom, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City & Newcastle. Plus I'm just about to embark on the knockout stages of ECC and have enough problems with key injuries i don't want to worry about losing all my away matches too lol

my team is built for short passing and exciting buildup play, i've tried nearly every formation at one point or another but they seem incapable of playing traditional Premiership direct countering football. They don't like playing with width or at a high tempo and using direct passing is match suicide for my team as it is right now :(
