Please help !!! I am in a pickle. I am playing my usual long term save with Crewe with the following conditions - home grown players from Crewe's youth academy only (preferably no transfers).

Now in 2022 i'm finally in premier league but my defenders are poor and mostly championship players. My attackers are good players with great potential but I can't seem to get a single win through the season.

I tried to even break my rule and get a defender but I can't afford a premier league defender salary on my wage structure. Relegation led to all my good attacking players to request transfer or refuse new contracts.

I am going to give up on this save unless someone gives me a savior tactic to try this season again. I am thinking maybe a 3-5-2 to decrease the number of poor defenders on pitch ?

HELP !!!

Give this a whirl - it works great for my AFC Wimbledon save and my Staines save (both in EPL and CL now)

GK
DCR DCL
WBR DMC WBL
MCR MC MCL
STR STL

Team Instructions
Balanced (Home) - Rigid (Away)
Control
Press More
Zonal Marking

Push Defensive Line Up
Play Narrow (Home) - Play slightly Wider (Away)
Quick Tempo
Counter Attack
Play Offside Trap

GK - Sweeper Keeper Attack
DCR - Limited Defender Stopper
DCL - Ball Playing Defender Defend
WBR - Wing Back Attack
DMC - Anchor Man
WBL - Wing Back Attack
MCR - Centre Midfielder Support
MC - Advanced Playmaker Support (Home Games) / Deep Lying Playmaker Support (Away)
MCR - Centre Midfielder Support
STR - Advanced Forward Attack (Home) / Poacher Attack (Away)
STL - Deep Lying Forward Attack (Home) / Support (Away)

PS. I don't think having less defenders on will help, its about getting your stronger players (eg. midfielders) to chip in and support the defence
