Right im trying to play a counter attacking style of play for my Manchester City team.... so far with my 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 formation i've managed 1-0 agianst Tottenham, 3-1 home and away against fc utrect and 1-0 vs Stoke... I was just wondering if anyone could help me get my team playing this style of football and score more goals...

heres my team

GK - Joe Hart - Goalkeeper - Defender
RB - Micah Richards - Full Back - Support
RCB - Kolo Toure - Central Defender - Stopper
LCB - Vincent Kompany - Central Defender - Stopper
LB - Aleksander Kolarov - Full Back - Support
CDM - Nigel De Jong - Anchor Man
RCM - Yaya Toure - Box To Box - Support
LCM - Gareth Barry - Advanced Playmaker - Support
RW - Adam Johnson - Winger - Support
LW - David Silva - Winger - Support
ST - Carlos Tevez - Advanced Foward - Attack

So please if any of you could help me id be very gratefull :D

Many Thanks
Chris

what are your team instructions? maybe a screenshot of your tactics screen with them showing would help.

also how have you been doing possession and chances wise?

when your in game press alt+F9 and they appear in

documents/sports interactive/fm 2011/screenshots

then on here click on the paperclip and load them up

God I sound so dumb right but when I click of the paperclip it just opens a new tab and to fm base home :S

the paperclip at the top of the reply box? it should come up with a manage attachments box.

counter attacking teams normally work better with a quick tempo and direct passing as you hit the other side on the break giving their players less time to get back and in position.

maybe you could try a 4-2(DM)-3-1? This would give you more attacking options on the break but still a strong base to defend?

personally playing with man city I use control tactics, slow tempo, short passing.

Just played the Everton game and tried using Tevez and Balotelli as the wingers and Dzeko up top... it resulted is scoring more goals i suppose and managed to restrict them to missing or long range efforts

How would you suggest playing with the control its just everytime i play a control tactic with City it always backfires... (have 60-70% possesion and then ill lose 2-0 or summit)

OK unfortunately I deleted my last save with City because I got bored but I've literally just started a new one. No games played yet but here's a screenshot of the tactic that I used on my last save and will be using on this one if things go to plan.

Averaged 60-70%possession each game (with the exception of the "big four"), most teams only created a 2 or 3 CCC's in a game whilst we created around 7-8. It's by no means perfect but got the job done for me.

I can't guarantee you won't conceed and that you'll score but it worked for me.

Right cheers mate ill give this one a go and see how it goes...

Cheers for the help guys and ill get back to you soon :D

First of all, direct instead of short. Use the "Stand-Off" more TI. Try "Rigid" philosophy.
