So basically, I started to use this tactic in the last period of the season in my malaga save and I managed to get some good results in the last 5-6 games, in which I played with this tactic and secured top 4 in the very last game. My main problem is not to keep it tight at the back, but much more to create any chances upfront. I use OI's, in which I ask my players to nevery tight mark the wide players and to always show them on their opposite foot so that they always cut inside of the pitch, where I have several players staying very narrow and to always close them down. I also ask my players to close down the back four and the defensive midfielders. This is working great, didnt concede any goals from crosses in the last 5 games, but anyway seems like going forward does not work. My main idea is especially by playing with a supporting wide playmaker (Koke's role) I want to create a huge gap on the left flank, where my left full back can bomb forward. Believe it or not, he is always staying completely free, having the whole flank for himself, but I dont know why, but neither my left midfielder nor my other players seem to prefer him. My left playmaker always cuts in and looks for on of the forwards to play the ball. I have also tried it out by setting exploit both flanks or using also a deep lying playmaker so that whenever one of my wider midfielders cut in, they will find him and he will switch the flanks with a long ball but it didnt help aswell... I am really desperate, as I think solving this problem will solve my scoring problems up to majority. Its just so wasteful and sad that these spaces dont get used. I can watch the AI they are doing these overlappings and switches pretty well. I hope some of you could give me some advise and help.
