Need some help for my defence

1st season with liverpool. I got g. johnson, martin kelly, agger, skrtel, carragher, danny wilson, oscar wendt. It's just 3rd week. I've conceded really funny goals. Scored 7, conceded 2. No problem with scoring. I want to create a team that won't concede more than 20 at the end of the season. Any suggestions ?
 
Davide santon, play him at right back might be able to pick him up on a free still unless somone else has grabbed him.
Kjear, play him at CB with agger.

Transfer season has ended. I have to do that with these players :)

I conceded around 22-25 goals a season and went 3 seasons unbeaten. Also was a high scoring tactic

Defensive line was the lowest level of normal. I'll set it deeper. I don't like man marking. Always using zonal. Already, skrtel plays limited defender and agger plays ball playing defender. Don't wanna play with counter philosophy but if things won't get better, i'll try that. Thanks

What kind of formation do you use? if you explain it i may be able to suggest how to improve.

playin 4-2-4 with attacking strategy, fluid philosophy. Long ball game, normal tempo. Glen Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Wendt are my defenders. Johnson and wendt are full backs. Skrtel's limited def, agger is ball playing def. All of them are with defend duty. Using Gerrard-Meireles on the center. Gerrard as advanced playmaker(sup), meireles as ball winning midfielder(def). Suarez(kuyt) on the right wing. Guardado (maxi rodriguez, joe cole) on the left wing. Both inside forwards with attack duty. Carroll plays target man, eren derdiyok(suarez) plays poacher.

If you want, i may have a ss when i'm on the pc
 
Id consider changing Gerrard to box to box midfielder attack and Meireles as a deep lying playmaker support. Slow tempo, fluid philosophy and short passing. Change the strategy to balanced. Ask Mereiles to come deep to get the ball. This should result in you conceding few goals and scoring a good few while your at it.

If using an attacking strategy this opens up your defence a bit and causes you to concede a few sloppy goals.

thanks for all your helps mate :) i'll change the tempo for now. but i may try to solve the problems in future with your suggests
 
I'm using a deep defensive 4 player line with man marking. Fullbacks are set to support and slightly more offensive. The one centre back is a stopper, the other one is on cover duty and they all have at least 11 in the skills needed for their positions / duties.

Conceded 23 goals over the whole last season in the league. I'm playing Stuttgart in 2020...
