Network Game??

Although im not new to football manager i have never played a network game, ive found myself wondering lately though whats so good about them? so can anybody explain what exactly makes network games so good?

you get to play with more than the computer, compete for player transfers compete for the title, if u like multiplayer games u will like network games

so do you have to be on it all the time? or is it like offline where its saved where you left it?
