Expectations and staff

You will have two choices for the seasons expectations. One, promotion which will give you a £1M transfer kitty or two, Winner which will give you a £1.3M transfer kitty. You can definitely gain promotion with the squad you have but you also have a strong enough squad to win the league so it is up to you which one you choose but i suggest Promotion.

Staff

Most of your staff are pants and i would look to replace them as soon as you can.

Assistant Manager : Chris Evans
1st Team Coach : Neil Thompson
GK Coach : Andy Rhodes
Youth Coach : Sean McAuley
Youth Coach : Neville Burbeary
Physio : Paul Smith
Physio : Alan Smith
Physio : Mark Palmer
Physio : Ashley Fickling
Scout : Terry Valentine

I suggest keeping only Thompson, McAuley and Burbeary. Although Evans has some decent stats you can get a better replacement. All of your Physio's are rubbish and so is you GK coach and Scout. Your Youth Coaches however are pretty good with McAuley's 'Working with youngsters' stat at 19 and Burbeary's at 17.

Suggested in's and out's

In:

Assistant Manager : Tony Coton
GK Coach : Dominique Baratelli
Youth Coach : Graeme Liveston
Physio : Chris Malkin
Physio : Steve Whitehall
Scout : Bobby Roberts
Scout : David Hamilton
Scout : Glenn Cockerill

Oh, and also ask the board for a Parent Club so you can get some quality youngsters on loan !

Squad

Goalkeepers

Nicky Weaver
Richard O'Donnell
Aaron Jameson

Weaver is capable at this level but he concedes quite a few too many for my liking so i tend to get a replacement for him. O'Donnell and Jameson are young but i would keep O'Donnell and sell Jameson as you can get around £120,000 for him as Derby normally offer for him. I suggest looking at Roy Carroll as Weaver's replacement as he has a vast amount of experience and is a very good goalkeeper.

Suggested In's and Out's

In : Roy Carroll; Free
Out : Aaron Jameson; £120,000

Defenders

Michael Morrison
Reda Johnson
Lewis Buxton
Mark Reynolds
Mark Beevers
Lewis Buxton
Jon Otsemobor
Tommy Spurr

Here you only have one or two good defenders and they are Morrison and Johnson so you need to buy some players to strengthen this area of your squad, but you may also want to offload a few to get a bit extra budget to sign players with. Reynolds, Spurr and Buxton are you week points but i recommend selling Spurr as once again Derby and Hull want to sign him. You need replacements and Abubakari Yakubu and Thomas Cichon are ideal.

Suggested In's and Out's

In : Thomas Cichon; Free, Abubakari Yakubu; Free
Out : Tommy Spurr; £250,000

Midfielders

Tommy Miller
Jermaine Johnson
Gary Teale
Chris Sedgwick
Giles Coke
James O'Connor
Darren Potter
Daniel Jones
Liam Palmer

You have real depth in this area and some vast experience which could prove to be a important factor for you to gain promotion. Your best 4 are Coke,Potter,Miller,Sedgwick but age isn't on your side here and you could do with bringing in some new fresh young players. Potter and Palmer can both be sold for £160,000 which IMO are good deals as there are plenty of good free agents who are willing to join. Also if you can get rid of Daniel Jones and release Gary Teale as he is just rubbish.

Suggested In's and Out's

In : Chris James; Free, Joe Keenan; £12,000; Ricardo Andre; £95,000, Laurent Robert; Free, Jordon Mutch; Loan, Abderrahman Kabous; Free, Olivier Kapo; Free

Out : Darren Potter; £160,000, Liam Palmer; £160,000, Gary Teale; Release

Forwards

Neil Mellor
Paul Heffernan
Clinton Morrison
Gary Madine

In this area you lack lots of depth and a goalscorer (sometimes Heffernan/Morrison score 10-15 goals a season) and you need some fresh faces, i suggest Julio Cruz on a free to tutor Gary Madine and Sergio Araujo on loan for a goalscorer. You do not want to sell anyone here as a few of your strikers are injury prone (Mellor) and you need decent back up, if you are promoted i have been told you get a £8M budget so i would suggest trying to sign Araujo on a permanent basis.

Suggested In's and Out's

In : Wason Renteria; Free, Julio Cruz; Free, Febian Brandy; Free, Sergio Araujo; Loan

Tactics

Gary Megson has tried two tactics since arriving at Hillsborough, the 4-42 and the 4-5-1. Both work well but i would suggest Raikans Perfect 4-4-2 to do the job in hand. I feel the 4-4-2 is also a better tactic for the players you have and without the signings you should line up like this;

Weaver
Buxton - Morrison - Johnson - Spurr
Johnson - Miller - Potter - Sedgwick
Mellor - Madine

With signings;

Carroll
Yakubu - Morrison - Cichon - Reynolds
Kapo - Kabous - Mutch - Keenan
Araujo - Madine

Extras

Captains: Weaver is captain at the start of the game but doesn't mind been replaced so i would replace him with Cichon.

I hope you enjoyed my guide and i hope it helped. Thank you, Joseph
