Hey everyone, I had an idea for what I thought would be a sweet new database, but I couldn't get my head around how to go about it, so if anyone has any ideas, that would be totally awesome!

Basically, I wanted to go with a city-by-city league for all of England, firstly. If it works, maybe other places too, but basically, join all the teams from the individual cities into one team, for example; Man united and Man city join to make Manchester; Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Spurs, West Ham into London.

It would also be cool if anyone knew how to make either a salary cap, or a transfers limit, maybe on the number of players you can sign each season? And impliment the rules of only spending what you earn?

Just some ideas. If anyone thinks it could be cool and has any other ideas, or thinks they could help with it would be awesome! If anyone thinks it's a lame idea, let me know!

I think that it would be kindda hard, as they're so big clubs, the wages, stadiums, would be hard to settle. And even the squads, whats your idea? Just sum all the players?

i think it sounds like a great idea, but there wouldnt be many teams in it. e.g London would have 5 of the prem teams.

There would be too many players; how about only the best players in each team? Plus for London I would suggest having South London and North London, since there are so many London clubs..

Well my advice is to wait a week or two until the new patch is out.

Also check this out:

Its not exactly the same and i havnt downloaded it but it seems similar to what you want to do. I dont think you can make a salary cap or restrict the signings but im not sure.

Is that system not already in place for Athletic Bilbao though, and salary caps for MLS clubs?

Not sure you can necessarily implement them elsewhere, but would seem strange for Bilbao if you couldn't possibly do it with anyone else...

I was thinking, if each team had an A team, B team, and C team, as well as an under 18/21 team, the players could be distributed evenly between the teams.

Even though London would have 5 of the prem teams, that would just make London what Chelsea, Arsenal, and United are nowardays. Top of the table team. After a couple of years, and player retirements, they will slowly change in their positions.

I think the North London and South London idea is pretty good actually, it does make sense as there will be a load of teams to incorporate and it could make the London team especially big.

And waiting for the new patch is pretty genius! Even though I have already downloaded a transfers update, I'm not too sure what the new patch is going to do?

Bilbao is a unique case and its written into the hard copy of the game that they cant sign non basque players. It cant be done on the data editor. Its commonly asked.
Also as i mentioned im not sure about the salary cap, it may be possible but i havnt seen it done before. But its not possible to make clubs only spend their profit.

Also, just looked at the editor and what I'd need to do, and I was just thinking. If every team in the game had a salary cap, and couldn't go over it, would player's wage demands drop? Or would the top players demand top wages? Because one could never have a team full of top players unless the wage demands drop across the board?

Maybe what could be cool is to put the captains from each team into the new teams, and have the game start with each team with no players other than them, and have them have to sign them on contracts?

Im on the editor now and I dont think you can do a salary cap. I think it is a good idea though but like someone above said there would not be many teams. You might have to do lower league teams cities aswell like Sheffield and Bristol. They would probably get relegated but more teams I suppose
