Is it possible for a team to aquire new rivals over time? I've taken Lincoln City from BSP to Premier Division, yet the fans still get more excited when I knock Grimsby (who are currently in BSN) out of the FA Cup, than they do when I tear Chelsea a new one in an away game. I understand that geography and history both play a big role here, but even IRL the fans should develop new rivalries, no? Especially when all of their old rivals are four to five divisions away.
