Today I was thinking about a new stadium for Chelsea and how they have problems with lack of space in and around the London area so it got me to thinking why not share a ground? I wouldn't ever dream of sharing with another football team because I don't think that is neccessary. So my suggestion is Twickenham, the stadium is empty for most of the year and a capacity of 82,000 means Chelsea would have the biggest in the Premier League, its a modern stadium and has decent travel links. People will say that the RFU will never hand over their prize asset but why not share it? It's such a shame to have a magnifcient stadium like it just sitting there empty. I'm sure Mr Aramovich can write a big enough cheque to persuade the RFU and they have to pay for the recent re-development so it would be a win win situation would it not? Also I know Aramovich has a huge wallet etc but what if he walks away all of a sudden, and Chelsea have already or are about to build a new stadium? I'm sure a buyer would come along but would it not be nice not to have millions of pounds of extra debt hanging over the club? So I think Chelsea should really think about moving to Twickenham for the imediate future. I would love to hear what Chelsea fans and football fans in general think about this.
