After everyone associated with Newcastle united suffered heart break at the end of last season, the not so popular chairman Mike Ashley has appointed Prudhoe as the new manger ending speculation that Alan shearer will be taking charge.
In his first press conference Prudhoe stated that he would be selling some players he felt the club could do without sparking speculation as to who he was talking about. He also told the media he would definitely be buying some players if he could raise some funds from selling players already at the club.
St James's park has been very busy this transfer window so far seeing Crowd pleaser Jonas Gutierrez leave for 6.25million pounds to Shakhtar and the not so popular Geremi leave to arch rivals Sunderland for 900k. The departure of Geremi to Sunderland has angered some fans but others have seen it as a good deal as got rid of his high wage.
As for The incoming transfers there are rumours Newcastle have been in contact with Leeds over the signing of Jermaine Beckford and also to Sheffield United about Matthew Kilgallon and Striker Darius Henderson. We have also heard reports free agent Sol Campbell has been seen at the Newcastle training ground aswell as Arsenal confirming Newcastle have put a loan bid in for Jack Wilshere.
In press conference today Prudhoe revealed he was looking at some players but would not mention who and when asked why he sold one of the fans favourite Jonas Gutierrez he said he felt there was players already at the club who could offer just as much and the club could do with some money to help strengthen the squad.

Transfer News:
Newcastle have confirmed the signings of Jermaine Beckford and Matthew Kilgallon aswell as the loan signings of Jack Wilshere and Ritchie De Laet. They also confirmed that Sol Campbell has agreed a 1 year contract at the club on a free transfer. These transfers have came as a great surprise to many fans and have been glad to see there team eventually buying some players rather than selling.
In other News Ryan Taylor was injured for 2-3 weeks in Newcastle's 2-0 win against Patrick Thistle in a friendly which seen Beckford score both goals in his first appearance in a Newcastle shirt after only being at the club a day.
Transfer Rumours
Newcastle have been rumoured to still be in negations with Sheffield United over striker Darius Henderson but are said to be not so keen any more due to his high asking price. As a result there are sources close to newcastle confirming they have tabled a bid for the highly rated youngster Lacina Traoré from CFR Cluj for a reported fee of 950k.
