So, this is my first post on FM-Base but have been a long-time reader. One of the issues I've been having with Football Manager 2013 is ensuring that young players develop to meet their maximum potential. I play exclusively as Newcastle United and, at present, I am using Raikan007's tactic (Might and Magic). I do, however, often fail to help young players meet their potential, even with giving them match experience.

The young players I look to develop most often are Remie Streete, Adam Campbell, Gael Bigirimana, Adryan and Wellington Nem. What recommendations would you have for developing these players? Should I keep them in the Reserves and then place them in first-team matches for games where an easy win is predicted or keep them in the First Team all the time? Should I be micro-managing training and, if so, is there a suitable guide or can people make recommendations about how to go about helping these players?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Hey, I usually play alot of saves with Newcastle, and from my experience, Streete, Bigirimana will only ever develop enough to be back up players, Streete's physical stats usually become insane, I did my best to get the best out of him but his technical and mental attributes just didnt develop enough to merit keeping.
I've used Wellington Nem on the left wing, 1st team player from the start of the game, you should be able to use Ben Arfa as a tutor for him, and he might take some time to settle in but after a season or two he will be magic.
Adam campbell get him tutored by Cisse I guess he's the best you have for that atm, play him 20 mins at end of matches that you can, give him starts in the cup against **** teams, I know some people start youngsters they want to develop in meaningless european ties also. Another good thing would be to get him to learn the PPM "places shots" and "Likes to beat offside trap" they usually go well together for a goal scoring player but depends how you want to play him.
Adryan tutor him with cabaye and give him games like Campbell till you think he is good enough for the first team.
