Hello,

So, as you could guess from thread's title I am looking for Newcastle tactics.. I am using attacking 4-1-2-3 DM Wide versus weaker opponents and it seems working somehow, but now there is a problem: with that tactics I am losing games versus stronger teams. So, I need smth like counter-attack or similar tactics I guess?

Btw, I tried using Fergie's counter, but it doesn't work for me

4-2-3-1 wide

Gk Krul
WB (S) Haidara
CD (D) Colo
CD (D) Taylor
WB (S) Janmaat

CM DLP (D) Anita , Colback
CM BWM (S) Sissoko

AML AP (A) Cabella - marks DR
AMR W (A) Joel Campbell or IF (S) Gouffran - marks DL
AMC AM (A) Ayoze, de Jong - marks DM or BPD

AF (A) Cisse, Ferreyra

Short Passing, Work ball into box, Drill Crosses, Look for Overlap, Higher Tempo, Close Down More, Play out from the back, Roam from Position

Control or Counter depending on opponents etc.

Fullbacks offer width and allow AML to create and AMR (topscorer) to make dangerous runs, AMC to cause havoc and assists.

DLP (D) controls and breaks up game and BWM (S) stops opponents from dominating midfield and helps build attacks.

I know the team possibly has too many players as Attack but I always feel the AML AP (A) has more of a support function.

I'm 4th in season 1 so far = 20 - 14 - 3 - 3 for 45 points. Losses vs Chelsea(a) 4-3, Man U(a) 3-1, Stoke(a) 2-1. And in Semi finals of League Cup.

I do switch it around quite a bit but basics stay mostly the same.

Still conceding too many from setpieces, and hardly ever score from them.
