not exactly brilliant with newcastle team so i cant really help but i'd suggest adapting your team around your main players.
e.g.
Babacar - find his best positon & role and find a tactic that could also bring the best out of this.

im not too good on the midfield either but i'm guessing that the main ones would be Barton, Lovenkrands and Tiote or Fagan (depending on if its the Fagan i think it is...) so maybe a tactic that also brings these into the game?

i have done a 4-2-2-2, with 2 centre mids and 2 wide attacking mids, fagan on right, ben arfa on left. hopefully this will work

Read the better half's sticky on downloading tactics at the top of the page, get JP's anti football tactic.

I have Smith, Barton and Tiote as my midfield trio with Jonas on the left (he's killing it for me best i've ever seen him play on fm) and i bought Legear for the right also killing it, Gameiro will be a goal machine with this tactic.

Save it into your documents i.e Your name/documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 11/tactics

These folders exist but if there isn't a tactics folder then make one, then save tactic into that.
