Hiya all- I've not collected my new computer yet but I wanted to ask...
When I start my Manchester City save, should I sign Neymar?
I'm really tempted to sign him, mainly for the thrill of having a Brazilian in the team,
adding the samba style, the feelgood factor to eastlands, he's young, can score and
create goals, and has amazing hair. (Tevez can **** off in that respect- I think I've seen
him in doctor who!)
Anyway, part of me would loveto sign him, my plan would be to play him on the wide left
as an inside forward- Thierry Henry type of thing. Also, I'd like to sign Gotze and play him
in the hole for the link-up play. Alongside someone like Edin Dzeko on his own up front as a target man,
with either Silva or Aguero in the hole alongside Gotze, I'd just need a deep-lying playmaker in
the centre of midfield, someone with shades of Paul Scholes or Xavi about them, that's always in space
in the middle of the pitch, and can ping the ball out wide or play the simple pass if that's not an option
to ensure we remain in control of the match. I'm going on a bit of a tangent here.
Problem with signing Neymar, would be that he could cost a good £50 million, struggles to
play effectively under pressure/in the big games, he would take a lot of time and high-quality coaching, possibly
3 years for him to reach his peak with the fans doubting the amount spent. That could bea vicious circle, as if he gets off to bad start, his morale will drop- he could buckle under the pressure. A lot of people on this sight have said that you can get a better player for less, and my current favourite system is 4-1-2-1-2, which won't initially
accommodate a left winger. I would need to change the formation to get the best out of him.
A massive gamble, but, with all the hype about him and being potentially the best player in the world in 5 years time, is it one worth taking?
Cheers-
Gabriel
