I am still running the "An [Amateur] Tactician's Chalkboard for FM11" thread, but in tandem with this. I am currently working on a project for the next article, which should be out soon, but I want to run as well so that I at least have something else to update and get creative with. I have also seen some of those pop up a lot in and around the forum, so conjuring up another one wouldn't hurt, right? Anyway, this was inspired by those threads and being slightly bored.

Nike Academy - Your Chance [Registration Thread]
So yeah, here is the deal. If you read the note at the top of the thread, you'll understand what this is about. Enlarge, highlight, criticise if it you must, but I have had this idea before all of these "The *Insert famous former footballer name here* Academies started popping up recently, and getting word around. I just didn't know whether I should follow suit with everyone else, or just keep it to myself. Well, the latter has come to this. If you have followed the Nike Academy on Facebook, Youtube or Nike.com, then you'll understand what this is. They take a group of youngsters, who signed up via the Internet, phone and other sources of communication, and over the last six to nine months, have wittled it down to a certain amount of people who, the likes of Huw Jennings, Kenny Cunningham, Gareth Southgate (etc.) not the best to judge, but - it is Nike.
There are two, but I am going to go with the one that they have a squad of at least 23 players, and have them play friendlies against bigger teams and youth academies around England and northern Europe. Having a competition where there is only one would make it tedious and unfair to those who registered and were eliminated in the first few rounds. If this gets far enough, there can be a second episode of this, where the player graduate from the academy, and follow their lives for a while, whilst other people register and join the academy. If there are not enough people at the start, then I will fill the squad with created players, to which I can then use for the story.
The Database
I have made the database where I have put the 'Nike Academy in npower League Two, with a chairman that underwrites the debts, and has not transfer budget - because the Nike Academy doesn't buy players, they sign them on. The wage budget will be at the minimum of £75k because I fear that, during the game, clubs might try to poach some of the talent, and hanging on to them during the crucial stages of the season would be difficult, therefore having players wanting bigger contracts, pay rises, signing-on fees (etc.) The reputation of the academy will be around the average reputation of a League Two club, which is, I am guessing around the 3,000's. The training facilities will obviously be high because of the money that is pumped into it, and the fact that it is Nike that we are talking about, and the stadium will be a fake one. Will make one soon. It will be available for download after registration is complete.
The Players
All players that register will have a minus PA (potential ability for those who may not know) of -9, which I think equates to a possible 170 to 190, depending on how well the players play, how they are trained, if they are tutored, or sent out on loan. Lots of factors come into play. If there is a need to create players and fill up the squad, then their PA's will range from as low as -4 to -8. It balances the game out and doesn't have a full squad of potential world-beaters. Just like in the real-life version. You will also enter the game as 16-18 year olds, who have just been released from lower league or non-league clubs, or even just entering the game with no experience of semi-professional (let alone professional football) at all. This then requires, in the template that will be posted later in the OP, for you to choose whether you have just been released from a club or not. And as for current ability, it will be at 120 - just so that we actually have a chance of not being relegated from the league so quickly.
The Story
When we have completed the registration side of the process, I will open up a separate thread for the story, in which which will be linked back to this thread, and have me as the 'Head Coach' of the academy (Manager basically) and under my own name. The coaching staff will compromise of the coaches that they have at the academy in real-life, with decent CA's and PA's to not offer poor advice. If there is not enough staff, then I will create some more with similar CA and PA to fill up the whole backroom, to which I don't have to chase up coaches which ghastly attributes. The story will be very detailed, and update on how the players are doing, how the team is doing in general, the best and worst performers, the coach's verdict, who is being trailed by what club (etc.) I don't want to go into too much detail as of now, but you will see when it is up and running.

Requirements
- You must have the minimum of 250 posts to be able to enter. The rule still applies to Premium Members and moderators - although, I highly doubt any of them would have posts lower than 250.
- You will be asked regularly to like a post to see if you are still following the story, to which then people who are not may be replaced by others to continue the story.
- You must fill out the template fully and meet the other two requirements to pass. (Obviously)
