Nintendo Wii Help

I recently bought a nintendo wii and just have a little question about it.

When i originally bought it i only had wii sports for a few days and playing it two player was fine.

Then me and my g.f wanted to buy resident evil so we did, at first her controller wouldn't work until we realised we had to programme it to the wii (NOOOOOBS)

After we done so hercontroller now shows up as player 1 instead of mine which is now player 2, is there a way to choose which controller is player 1?

yeh i tryed that, its still puting mine as player 2..

But where both turn off?

click home on the controller, then disconnect controllers then who wants to be player 1 presses first so u get player 1. Or sync the controller again but with whatever wants to be player 1 syncs first.
