No disc error - Help please?

So I downloaded FM10, and installed offline.
Everytime I load up the game, before i can select either new game, load ect.. I'm given an error reading 'Please insert disc' or something alone those lines, anyways I was wondering how can i bypass this? as i do not have a disc?
I've also installed a patch, and from what i've read this could effect the game? so do i need to uninstall this patch? If so, how do i go about this?

You downloaded the game? As in a pirate copy?
 
If you have got the Steam version which is what I assume you're saying and you downloaded a patch that will be why you have an error as Steam installs them automatically and downloading the patches messes up the Steam version.
 
How do we know he hasn't done this already?
 
He said he installed offline, ie not using steam. He also said yes it was a pirate copy in the post he deleted....
 
Oh okay my bad, too trustworthy is my problem!
