Ok, in my game I'm experiencing a problem that is preventing me to get a vital member for the squad. And perhaps the most annoying thing is I sold another player I liked to make room for his transfer.

Situation is this:

I managed to get 463,000€ in the transfer budget, and the wage budget has margin for all or almost all the wages the player wants.

To get him I have to pay 1,600,000€. So I make a structure deal of 100,000€ now and 1,500,000€ in 24 months.

The player asks a signing on fee of 10,000€.

So 10,000 + 100,000 + (1,500,000/24) = 172,500€

And 172,500€ is LESS THAN 463,000€ unless some odd collapse of the Universe's wave function has turned me into a different one.

So, why does this happen? What could I do so the deal will go through? (Yeah, could look for another player like that, but I seriously doubt I could find one cheaper and willing to join my team).

Would it be inside bug territory so it would be legitimate to use an editor to add the player (with all the transfer details, of course) or it is something that works right even if I don't see why should it be like that?

m8 never offer a signing on fee it has no affect !!!!!!!

I'm not understanding to well but I believe even if you offer over the next 24 months the full payment comes out of tranfer budget.

Every time I have always tried to sign a player on instalments, I have had to have the entire amount available at the start

Yeah I've had that same problem too, it doesn't really make sense. I'd rather not do monthly installments (hate the drain on my budget) but I do it when I don't have the money at the moment, then I remember you CAN'T do it and I have to scrap the deal or sell a player or restructure a contract.

If you don't have the money and never get the money, then you should take the loss like you would for anything else, the other team should still be paid.

Well, making a 0€ now and 1,100,000€ in 24 months, still with the 463,000€ (starting transfer budget was one and a half million) has worked. 0 and 1,200,000€ later still said no funds, though.

After that, transfer budget has gone down to 0€.

So I still don't get how this works.

Thanks for the answers :D

PD - I suspect perhaps the game makes a balance of installments left to be paid and to be received, during what is left of the season, plus transfer remaining, if the new deal makes the payments go that balance to negative, no funds, if still positive, there are funds. There's just no way that I've seen to know that data without having to go manually through every transfer.

It seems it is like that. Seeing the player's clauses, I have to pay 42Kp/w, which reaches the originally remaining budget after 11 months (the transfer budget was announced 1 month before), so it checks perfectly, the starting fee and the installments until next transfer budget is announced must be within the remaining transfer budget.
