No Wonderkids?

Hey everyone (this is the second thread I have made with the same name, for some reason the other one has no writing in it and it seems I can't delete it)

I'm playing my 4th season with SS Lazio (and doing pretty well) but there is something missing, and they are my wonderkids. I am a dirty cheat and I use Genie Scout, and in my old Hoffenheim game my team was full of wonderkids. The names are no good to you as you won't have them, but for example I signed Zlatan Alic from some Bosnian team, had a potential of 180-something, bagged 20 goals by christmas in the Bundesliga. Also signed a Ukranian defender by the name of Anton Martynyuk from Metalist, who had a potential of 199. By the age of 18 he was my starting left back and was being targeted by Real Madrid, Barcelona, etc... Same went for about 5 other brilliant young players I had, and many ones who had the potential to be good squad players that were in my reserves or out at loan were been targeted by teams like Everton, Lyon and such.

The thing is, in my Lazio game I run a scan every month and NO wonderkids are to be found. There was one prospect, a Mexican winger with a potential of 194. His stats were awful and when I clicked on the "Show Potential Atributes" thing, they still were hardly any better. He was a free agent and after 3 seasons with no club picking him up he retired, at the age of 19. The only player I have signed from it was some Japanese striker, who has a potential of 180. Even then, his future attributes will be good enough to be a squad player for a Serie B, or Championship squad.

The other strange thing is, when I do my search for these kids they are basically all Italian apart from about 10, and none of them are any good.

Does anyone know why there are no good players coming up anymore? It makes no sense to me what so ever.

why buy the game , spend your time just to cheat. and then complain when you try and cheat and it doesnt work

when i used genie scout for a bit with FM09, i found the same thing. what i think happens is that it shows the development of a player at the current rate. so with the player who has ok stats and a PA of much higher than his current one but isnt shown on the genie scout to be any good in the future its probably cos the club he is at isnt training him at a high enough standard to reach his potential. if you have a good enough training and give him enough game time then over time, if you follow him on the genie scout you could see an improvement in his potential stats.
anyway, thats only a guess and im not sure if it applies to the current genie scout or not.
and another thing i noticed was that with the percentage things they use on the genie scout, the potential was usually a lot higher on the FMRTE than on genie scout. perhaps thats because FMRTE uses raw potential (ie the max they can possibly achieve) and genie scout uses the level they are on course for.

EDIT: so in essence, the wonderkids are there its just that they are all being hidden because of the lack of development they are getting at their clubs. with proper guidance those guys you have found may be more likely to reach the max stats for 180 PA or whatever they had

I'm pretty sure that's not the case, cause in my Hoffenheim game most my wonderkids came from rubbish European teams, the thing was they had good potential rating (always made sure it was atleast 75%, the best ones were in the 80's) If you're wondering how I found them I used the search filter: age between 0-21, and potential ability to atleast 170.

Since this thread I have finished another season, and now I'm begining my 5th. I ran a scan halfway through the season and found 1 wonderkid who I signed, a Swedish CM. Then at the start of the new season I ran a scan and once again, only Italians and they are all rubbish.

I might start a new game with just 3 leagues loaded and go on holiday for a year, just to see if any pop up then, because in my Hoffenheim game I had only loaded Germany, England and Spain.

I tried using genie scout but it wouldn't show me a lot of my players such as Craig Thomson and my regens or John Fleck when I typed there name in saying they found no one any idea?

I love John Fleck signed him on load for Leeds in one game did amazing, tried everything I could to get him permanently and he wanted to come, Leeds went into his favoured clubs, but just couldnt afford him

for some reason i think its pot luck when regans appear, the good ones and how many they are. In one save I had a 16 year old starting for me after 2 or 3 seasons and he was banging in goals. And when i played with another team I wasn't able to get any good regans till the 5 or 6th season.
And is using genie scout really cheating? i've never used it, I just get my scouts to watch players for as many games as possible.

I have found plenty of Wonder Kids; they were all regens tho . This GK called Saldana joined my club and the scouts went crazy saying he was miles better than Green (all these hype at the tender age of 17). I should check him out in Genie Scout and see what his potential is.

I understand newgens appear randomly, but there were an awful lot more in my old Hoffenheim game.

Oh and that Swedish CM I was talking about. I was thinking of keeping him for the long run, even though he had average mental attribute (brilliant physical ones though). Chelsea came sniffing around with a €30m bid which was accepted, not bad seeing as he was signed for free, which when accepted were transfered into my wage budget which allowed me to sign Luca Toni. He's 35 but still brilliant, and I recall in my Hoffenheim game he won European golden boot seasons 2010/11 and 2011/12.
