Non-Real Players

Has anyone ever tried playing a league with non-real players [the option when your setting up your game]? Obviously, part of the joy of FM is using your own personal knowledge of players to build a team but I'm looking for a new challenge [having won the Champions League with Celtic after 12 seasons]. Is it worth going in cold, or is it just too much work flying blind, so to speak?

I've never tried it on the recent FMs, but i tried it on the really old games like CM00/01 or 01/02 etc.

I tried doing a save on it a few weeks ago but was so unrealistic.There was about 50 players with 18/19/20 for most of their attributes

A lot of players are carbon copies of real players but with higher attributes. I much prefer real players.
