From the BBC, who in turn are quoting The Times:
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez dedicated his side's crucial 1-0 win over Stoke to former fan George Owen. The 83-year-old Wigan died from a heart attack in the final moments of the side's 3-2 win over West Ham last week. In the aftermath of the win over Stoke, which secured Wigan's Premier League survival, Martinez said: "We would like to dedicate this moment to George and his family."

That's so ******* sad. I mean, he had a heart attack because of all the excitement, so he probably died happy, you know, there probably aren't many better ways to die, but his family could've been celebrating today after their heroics on Sunday, yet they will find themselves mourning his death.

sad news, football is such a strain sometimes it really is.
