Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll is on the verge of being named Burnley's new manager, BBC Radio Sheffield understands.

Always good to see people given a chance. He has done a pretty impressive job with Doncaster.

Never heard of him before:S But good luck to him if he takes charge.

He is a great Manager, shoe string budget at Doncaster yet he kept them in the Championship last season and they are pushing into the top ten this season, very much like Coyle is you ask me.

Same.

Most managers start as a unknown manager and some have done great things so...You never know what he will do.

This could either turn out really good or go horribly wrong.

Could be Brian Laws by the looks of things, I can't imagine Burnley going for Paul Jewell after his epic fail at Derby.

Laws, if appointed will be regarded by our fans in a very similar vein as Megson was at Bolton.

Hmmm Most likely, in my view, Coyle is irreplaceable as you don't see a Manager of his ability that often, it will be very hard for a new guy to come in and continue the momentum that Coyle brought to Burnley.

cant believe they have gone for law because they cant agree compensation fee but they can charge bolton nearly 3million for coyle

If the appointment is indeed Laws it shows a distinct lack of ambition from our board. Now I am not saying the best managers from far and wide should be targeted but ffs, a guy that has been sacked from every club he has managed? Took Sheff. Weds. from an established Championship side to relegation battlers? I would be disappointed if we were in the Championship and appointed him.

There are plenty of talented managers out there that are either young and talented (McInnes,Grayson, Pearson, Clark O'Driscoll) or have Prem Experience (Jewell, Warnock, Dowie etc.)

If you haven't gathered I am gutted at this apparent appointment.

Get your facts right. We got no where near £3m for Coyle.

Dont have a clue on why Coyle left burnley to go to bolton anyway his style of management and tactics do not suit bolton at all just went for money i guess. I like him as a manager but hes clearly made a huge U-turn.

Stephen Warnock is a good shout tho but i admire palace so wouldnt like that to happen.
